Take K2 or Original Misty. very easy to grow, not nute sensitive, good yield etc etc

 keep things cheap and simple. both these strains will take a certain amount of abuse,,, but remember, the more lovin' the better the quality be

its not the real K2 which was from Advanced Hydroponics and was a Kush/NL/Earlypearl/?

IMHO go with some mandala strains like hashberry ---

The k2 I am growing is from nirvana's and I know it's not the original version of it I am only making a suggestion on that I have grown and is easy to grow leaves lots of room for error and is potent. From what I hear about mandala strains is nothing but good but have never tried them myself yet.

Hindu Kush is a good one for a starter plant. Short flowering, hearty plant, and can take plenty of abuse.

Norhtern Light X Haze, was a great first hydro attempt for me.

I did have some stretch though. But the buds where dense and huge. I liked it so much I am running 8 more clones on this next grow and (5) bubblilous, (5) ice, and (4) WW.

'Sup cracker. I started by purchasing a a pack of random assorted indoor seeds from a bank. 13 germinated, six survived to maturity, 4 were females. For my next crop I grew clones from my 2 best mothers, and then standardized on one strain.

Not sure of your experience level, but I found actually seeing the different strains' characteristics (leaf style, inter-node length, bud size, aroma, growth rate, etc.) EXTREMELY VALUABLE when I was a newbie - I learned so much.

Good luck, looking forward to seeing your success!

Thanks for ALL the OP's. I have to pick something and go with it. If I keep comparing I'll never decide! I will try a Northern lights or White Widow variety. I'll be sure to let Ya'll know!

Best strain for a new grower.
Thats exactly what I'm doing at the moment. I have 6 plants between 4 and 7 inches tall. My intent was to grow these until I figured out what in Hades I was doing. But they are looking pretty good! Sometimes a good thing is right in front of your face, The trick is to see it before it's too late!

i still havent found a 'hard-to-grow' strain...
some can be picky at times but if you research the seed strain, here online (search engines are invaluable resources)
then grow it, you have the upper hand.
grow them a second and third time and you will have a much greater advantage...

Nirvana Afghani, cheap seeds, easy to grow with fast finishing frosty buds that smell like hashish heaven.

Thanks for the offer G, I will keep that in mind!
I may end up with a decent strain from my bagseed and I aquired several seeds from some very good stuff. I have no idea what it is though. I find it very interesting the differences in leaf shape and number of blades several seem to have maxed at very short wide 5 blade leaves and one with long slender 7 blade leaves. Pretty cool!
