Best solution for spidermites and other pests?

SB Plant Invigorator is the most affective pesticide against spidermites. It works so well because spidermites can't build up a resistance to it, unlike other pesticides. It's mode of action on spidermites is a physical one, also unlike other pesticides. It is designed to penetrate the waxy coating on spidermites that usually stops them from drowning. The spidermites are essentially suffocated to death. It is the best pesticide for spidermites. It will completely irradicate your spidermite colony, if used properly.

one thing about those predator mites, I ordered shit-ton of them and after a few days they didn't seem to do anything. This was in a 12/12 light cycle and some people told me they tend to hibernate or something. They sound like the most ideal solution, but I'd be careful if you're in 12/12, they might not work like you expect.

Great info.

Over the years, I've discovered, like Know one, that all Neem is not created equal.

I, too, have tried to use certain Neem oils to quell infestations, and it didn't work.

Then, I discovered Hydroclarified Extract of Neem Oil. This is sold at many stores under the Schultz brand name as 3-in-1 pesticide/fungicide. And it works!

I apply it once a week, every week. Regular Neem does the trick, eventually, but if you've got an immediate problem, try hydroclarified extract of neem.

There are more effective alternatives, like lots of folks have mentioned here - no pest strips, etc - and all organic/chemical debates aside, I use hydroclarified extract of Neem because it works great against powdery mildew, as well.

For me, mites and mildew are an unfortunate fact of life. In perpetual-harvest gardens, there is never a point when the garden is empty. I could chop everything, including my clone mothers, start from seed, and probably not see a mite for 6 months, but is that sort of interruption worth it?

I might use no pest strips at some point, but I'd still be using Neem or Serenade to control mildew, so for now, Hyroclarified extract of Neem is the way to go.

I've used predators, they along with a complete cleaning and vacuuming with a HEPA filtered vac worked quite well, knocked down my mite problem, haven't seen any since (knock on wood).

I've used sprays, all with varying degrees of effectiveness, as well as varying degrees of damage done to the plants. I won't/wouldn't use them during budding at all, call me crazy.

I've used No-Pest Strips, against thrips, scales, and gnats, knocked them down flat in a few days. I tried using them against the aforementioned mites, they didn't seem to work, but I think this truly was the Borg strain of mites :bat: :dueling:

If I get invaders again, I'll try 1tokeoverline's spray, sounds interesting to kill them the way it describes (sizzle, pop!) :bat: :bat: :bat: http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=18473

I spent $250 on a quart of Floramite SC and while it did work in the immediate term, the mites kept comming back with each subsequent grow. After three trys I was sick and tired of those bastards and ready to take a blow torch to the room.
My room size was 14 x 8 with 6 trees inside. Went to Home Depot and bought 6 No Pest Strips for $6 each and hung one inside each plant. Damn!!!! Mites were gone, gone, gone and never came back.

Much Luv

Much Luv

Much Luv to all 4 the info. I have been battling a major infestation for 8 months now that I got from some clones from a friend. I have tried many things like bombs, bugzyme, rubbing alchohol, SM 90, Neem oil with no luck. So thanks for the info.
OFF TO HOME DEPOT I GO IN SEARCH OF NO PEST STRIPS!

Ok , im gonna post this because nobody has.

Everyone sayes use neem, use insecticidal spray.. But everyone is leaving out proper application procedures.

This is the secret that is key to using these products

Apply Neem/insecticidal spray every 2-3 days. Do this for 2 weeks. Your problem will be gone. The plant needs to be litterally dripping, you also must get underneath the leaves extreamly well.

the only time the pest strip should be used is in extreme cases, such in flower. Spraying your buds is bad.your pot will taste shitty.

Ive knocked down mite problems on small scale and a large scale show using this procedure. oh, and they havent returned.I had almost given up hope untill i started using the sprays in this manner.

I haven't read the entire thread so if this is repeat info then please disregard. For spider mites i use SMC. It's made up of the same ingredients as SM-90 but it actually works.
However, it's no miracle product. I recommend spraying with a high powered pump sprayer (cause it makes it easier to get under all the growth) and using the SMC at full strength. Then 2 days later spray with pure h20. Wait a day and spray with SMC. I find that, if i need to, i can spray all the way into flower until i get prominent buds.(usually 3 weeks)
Also, SMC doesn't burn my flowers (pistils) the way SM-90 did. The ingredients seem to be the same but for me SMC works and SM-90 never did...

Has anyone had success with 20% SM-90 solution?

I use 20% sm-90 in conjunction with no-pest strips.

Mix up 20% sm-90 in a mason jar, dip all clones into jar before planting.
I use No-Pest strips when I know I have mites, and usualyl in my mother and clone room(s). Mites come from clones I acquire from friends, never from my household... becuase no-pest strips have slaughtered their species in my neck.

I will say, the 20% sm-90 is a good cover-all organic doseage method. I normally never have to break out a no-pest strip.

In order for neem to work you have to get the bottom of the leaves like everybody says, but the only way to really do this is to put on a pair of thin silicon or vinyl gloves and rub all the leaves with your hands, making sure to touch all the services. If your already into flower it will be impossible so it's best to start your neem treatment about a week into veg. Spray every 2 weeks.
Avoid brushing up against bushes and plants outdoors. Growers introduce mites into their gardens on their clothes usually. Mites have harder times laying eggs on moving leaves, so get those fans on them. I hated the smell at first, but over the years have even grown to like it.

No Pest Strips r a life sver!

No Pest Strips r a life sver!

Extreme case of spider mites was wiped out over night by the No Pest Strips. As i wrote b4 I got mites from clones from a friend (some friend), anyway I tried many diff products makin sure to get underside of ALL LEAVES, the only thing I had luck with was bombs. But they would always come back it was like they became immune to all the products i was usin. Ive read the strips should b last resort, well I was @ my last resort & I am more thankful 4 the Strips then anyone could imagine. Moms were saved, babies were saved, & buds were saved!

Most Walmarts have them.

And they are fucking awesome like everyone said.

Not only do you not have to do shit, just hang them, they work 1,000,000 X faster & better than anything I have ever tried.

I mean, who the fuck wants to wait 1-2 weeks of manually spraying shit on your plants, all the while they are getting eaten still.

The NO PEST strips work all most immediately, you don't have to spray, it doesn't effect the plants whatsoever, and you can use them all the way until the end of flowering.

Not only that, if you just hang them before a grow, you will never even have an infestation start in the first place.

I can't express how much better no pest strips are than any other method I have ever found.

If you have a really hard time getting them you can just order them from the Internet, but they are very common.
