FFOF (Fox Farm Ocean Forest) works for older plants. I fried some seedlings in it once because it has a lot of nutes in it. After you grow a while you can get more picky about texture and ingredients. I actually use 2 different kinds of soilless mix. One weak one to start seeds, and when the plants get larger after about a month you can hit them with a stronger soil. Fox Farm Light Warrior would work for you to start seeds. I actually use ProMix HP Myco as a base and then start throwing in amendments I feel it needs. Of course growing is a hobby for me and I have been growing for a long time.

Another vote for Fox Farm's Happy Frog. Been using it straight outta the bag for years with great results. I used to use their Ocean Forest, but it dries out a little faster than I would like in my space. Either one though, you can use straight. :)

FFOC can be hot like any super soil I stink, but I've had tremendous luck & results.
Sensi Soil will be my next run.....just add water.
I've been told to put super soil in the lower 2/3 and a light mix on top to make the roots stretch....I'll try it.

roots organics original or greenfields. no need to add anything, its ready to go out of the bag.

fox farm soils are too inconsistent in the batches. not to mention you got to add perlite and lime.

Roots organics original works well indoors using their buddha grow & buddha bloom ferts.

It's probably smart to supplement with a little cal mag or similar.

Their greenfields is formulated for outdoor & has better water retention.

I use SunGro professional potting mix because it is totally "soiless". Three cubic feet for about $15. I made the mistake of buying Miracle Gro and I had fungus gnats. Then once a month I use Biotone in my water as I don't like a lot of fert/nutes either.

Started Fox Farm/Ocean Forest. Grabbed a bag of Ancient Forest by GO for humus and some EWC... From there I branched off to Roots Organic, and it was okay. But I fell in love with BuildASoil. Google them. Order dirt. Learn. Love. <3

Just started using dr earth pot of gold/home grown potting soil. Mixed with some compost for aeration. I moved from fox farms and switched to dr eart. Cheaper and better quality in my opinion. Look into it.

mix FFOF, Light Warrior, and Roots Organics together for a solid mix

that being said i love Earth Juice - takes the cake as far as easy and efficient

I like to make my own soil starting with 50% Promix Bx, I add to this 30% Nature's Care Organic Potting mix, 10% Compost, Handful of Biotone Starter, Handful per 3gal of Chickity DooDoo, handful of kelp Meal, Handful of feathermeal, Handful Of Fast Start (think from biotone).. I find the Promix has way too much perlite in it, so Ive stopped adding perlite to this mix. Its plenty airy enough. I will second the recommendation of Buildasoil. You can order everything you need, than some from them. Great prices also. They ship flat rate whatever fits in that fucker. Good folks!

Meow........

You can always get a ppm meter and test different soils eventually finding the one that meets your expectations too.
Keeping in mind environmental conditions can add or take away from desired results.
