IrishSoCo  , man, you hit the nail on the head, bro. I used to have two jobs, but I gave the part timer up to continue school, plus I have a seven year old and another on the way. Not to mention I work at the worst place in the world. Too many people don't understand hard work. I didn't for a while, either. Then I guess you could say I grew up. Maybe that's his problem?

But seriously, stoopid, these guys are right. I was almost in the same situation as you. But then I said, **** it, and I'm not afraid of getting my hands dirty. Of course, I kinda lucked out with 4 acres available to me. But I'm still gonna do a PC grow and eventually a Bio Bucket grow. And guess what? You have to build them. I agree with SoCo, you don't need to be growing. Plants have feelings, too, and with your attitude you'd probably kill them real fast, and they don't need that shit.

Oh, by the way, I built a veg cab using a damn rubbermaid. It only took maybe....5 minutes? Ten at the most, but I smoked a bowl, too.

I thought I had no DIY skill's until I tried. This stuff isn't rocket science. Don't want a screw showing through a board? Don't screw it in deep enough to show through. That's some advanced stuff. Also look over the internet for DYI sites, go to a book store and look in the home improvement area. They have books on how to do everything. With proper planning you could get a lot done in half an hour. Plenty of time to clean up. But with all that said, it sounds like your not in a good place in your life to try and pull this off. Just my 2 cents

sorry that came across as generally pissed off. Its more just a negative feeling towards the attitudes of one member

peace all

It's cool, man. Nobody needs that crap around here. If your first ten posts are that negative, I don't think you'll be making many friends around these parts.

Nice panopticist! LOL No Douche Pumps allowed! I can't believe I am posting again on this jackass's thread but i don't like to see irishsoco upset, he is one of the most helpful posters and if he's pissed then that means your really a true A-Hole! I do have a bunch of extra grow boxes but you wouldn't be able to figure out how to work them. Dumb-ass! I work about 45hrs a week and go to school too. Still have time to clean and maintain my 90gal saltwater fish tank build a motorcycle and grow all at the same time. Don't take life to seriously or you will never get out alive! Peace

ok, i was civil, tried to help. but seriously.. F*** OFF
:cuss: :badday:
you most likely don't have a clue what hard work is with the attitudes you've shown here. I can't imagine you having any kind of decent job that requires any training with your negative attitude towards learning.
You don't have any :cuss:ing clue how hard some of us work.
guess what buddy, i'm holding down 2 jobs that take up 70 hours a week on a slow week and I'm goin to school at the same time to further my education.

if you don't know what the :cuss: you're talking about then keep your mouth shut.

I think most members here can agree that I don't get pissed on the boards much at all, but your comment was out of line and uncalled for.

I can't even start to think that i'm the only one working as hard and as many hours as i am.

as far as you getting someone to give you their address so you can send them money for a decent growbox, I hope NONE of them are stupid enough to do this for pure security reasons. you have 10 posts and at least I haven't seen any indication whatsoever that you're a safe person to give up an addy to. There are probably 5 members on this entire site i would even think of giving up my addy to, and of those five, probably 4 would advise me not to, again, for security reasons.

O, and another thing. when i was in college and 90% of the people in my dorms were straightedge I put together two growboxes and pulled off multiple grows. My roommate had no clue what was going on til i told him i was moving the plants out because people were getting curious.
so don't give me your "i only have 1 hour a day to work on it." 1 hour a day for a week is plenty of time to put together a pretty solid cab.

Personally, I think you should just keep buying. If you can't put one hour a day into building a box and not letting people know, how the f*** do you expect to be able to care for plants and take care of them stinking.

growing successfully for any extended length of time takes commitment, dedication, and a solid head on your shoulders.......and I don't see you as having any of those.

i apologize to all the other members about the harshness, this just hit a note in that im not a big fan of disrespectful assholes.

LOL PMS?

those tools you listed are all i used to construct my pc case, 150w cab, and red style tubs as well as a micro cab. i cant tell you which is the best for the money because after researching and becoming familiar the logistics of safe designs i just dove in head first and did it and i have never looked back. but good luck with which ever route you choose to go.

now that i think about it.....i did my first rubbermaid cab with a utility knife, aluminum foil, duct tape, some pc fans, and a few cfls with some plants in 2 liter bottles with the tops cut off.

it doesn't have to be pretty to grow, you're gonna try to be hiding it anyay

I agree with Irishsoco. first off, your roommates will know you are growing quicker than youd think. If they arent cool with it, not a good idea. you sound like in a good position with hookups so chill on that till you can get your own place and then get a real setup and do it right. if you cant handle setting up a simple cabinet with basic ventilation, growing may be a bit much for you to handle, no offense.

What province are in you in? I wouldn't mind unloading my old grow dresser to someone. Its got about 300w of cfl/fluoro lighting in it, but i could convert it to a 100w or 150w air cooled hps light though no problem. Wish I had done that right away to be honest.

ITs a tad bit loud though. Youd have to keep it in your closet if you cared about someone hearing it. I just had a switch I flipped that shut off all but like 40w worth of lighting and shut the fans off to stay quite (plants think there is a cloud hanging over i guess)

Here it is with the cfl lighting. These pics are before the additional cooling (desgined in the winter....had to redesign this summer) and the switch i had to make it silent

I know you're probably joking, but watch out for words like this, they could offend something far larger than yourself :D.

As for your situation, given the parameters you have no options other than buying. If thats all the money you have, you can't afford a pre-built. If you can't build one, then you have to either save up longer or keep buying. I'd say grow some decent ganja in a rubbermaid or something and make some hash or baked goods to recoup funds. Then use funds for a plug-and-grow. Or a custom cab at that point.

You just don't have the capital now for what you're asking. I was in your shoes once. Trust me, buy something you WANT or even better build it, this is something you'll use a few times most likely, and it's something you should take pride in using. LEARN how to use it, LEARN how to use a saw and a drill and a hammer, LEARN how to hang mylar, that's the point of this forum.

Look at it this way, you'll likely be investing that time in some way doing something else for an hour a week. If you're building your cab during this time, you're learning a skill, you're investing in a hobby, you're saving money indirectly on the cab itself, and you're saving money in the long run growing your own. The roomies may still be a problem, I've heard smell can be horrible with some strains, like reeking-outside-the-house bad.

I really hope I helped ya out, everyone should have the chance to grow their own. THAT should be inalienable.

LOL hey im part mic too im juss messin, haha.

that dresser looks tight and I like the switch feature, I'm interested...QC here...drop me a line if you're interested.

hmmm QC eh? Im ontario. Maybe we can arrange something here possibly?? Also...if you were to take it...would you rather it be 150w hps or 200-250w cfl? I could aircool the hps no problem, as i have sheetmetal lying around and some scrap glass possibly.

I had/have no carbon filter though. keep that in mind. I thankfully grew out a low/no odour strain. 1 plant and i got 2 ounces :)

let me know what you think.

peace
