I love my Daystars as well.

Run real cool and am able to keep as close as a foot away if I want with 1000 watters in each.

I HOPE SO ,cause i think i 'll be getting mine tonight delivered by a friend. should have socket already and 6" metal ends. i already have a 465 cfm blower that i like. this will be 1st. time i hook it up to a reflector, cause i was using it to exhaust a closet on my last adventure. temps were about 85 max. i'm hoping for 75 max with the cool tube hooked up. peace, power, and luv. hopefullysafe

cool tubes are great i think maybe cooler than reflectors, but the better air cooled reflectors are a little better at even/concentrated light distrbution .

SUN SYSTEM COOL SUN REFLECTOR Is by far the best reflector on the market, I have used it side by side with the daystar and this reflector out shined them all. It yielded about 14% more bud on the same strain same eveything. The light spread is much bigger.

I would only use this on 1000 watters as it would be a waste of $ for smaller bulbs. It all depends on what your setup is. I put 2 of these over a 4 x 8 table and :yoinks:

The Cool Sun Reflector Features

Air passes easily through both ends of the reflector directly over the lamp for maximum inline air cooling.
95% reflective German aluminum offers excellent reflectivity and diffusion properties.
Tempered glass is included with every fixture.
Rugged and durable electro-galvanized steel housing.
Socket assembly and lamp cord are built into the reflector, no wireing required.
Prolongs life of expensive H.I.D Lamps
6 inch air cooled fittings are integrated into the design of the reflector-no need for separate fittings.
White powdercoating provides a rust resistant, clean appearance.
Sturdy chrome wire hangers make for easy hanging.
Sealed reflector won't draw air from inside the room, CO2 stays in place!
Manufactured to exacting standards to allow very little air leakage.
Eliminates excess heat problems

They are not cheap! but if you go cheap you grow cheap!

I think the super sun is a bit smaller. I like the cool sun as it is bigger- 22" x 20" i think. I agree with fredfarts that the cool sun really gives wide light coverage. I use 1k bulbs in em as well.

Go to seedsetc.com click on the seed cataloge then scroll dow to refectors.

The guy sells them to me for 150 buck free shipping. Just ask him he is a good guy. You will need to run a bead of silicone around the glass to make it 100% air tight. If your using co2. They do have a gasket you can use but its a real PIA. You can still clean the inside of the glass by accessing thru the vent hole. Thats how I do it. The thing about these is the large size. they are Dimensions: 20.5in long x 24 in wide x 7.5 in tall .

Be careful you dont order the small one its to small.

I use the Agrolux V8 Veloce. I like it because it has a very wide footprint. Plus 8" ventilation. I have 2 8" Elecient 200b for exaust (one ea. for 2x1000w) And Elecient 200a for intake. They give me good control for some negative pressure to keep odors contained. I really like them. The cost was 170.00 per hood. Here is a link--

I tried other refectors in differnt rooms the others had a rubber gasket and a hinge that the glass swung down, but those werent big enough (light Spread) and those werent sealed around the vents!

Why cool sun doent make a swing down glass with a rubber gasket in beyond me. That would be the cats ass! but I opted for the silicone, I hated to do it at first but it works out good anyway. The glass is a real pain to take out anyway. thats why I always clean from the end. I use hose clamps on the vent hoses so they come on and off easily.

You will not be disapointed with these I promise. They ship them in an unmarked box also.
