Best frankincense smelling strain you can buy now?

Jack Herer pure Church

Cool but that narrows it down to about 6 options that would take a year to test grow. I’d need to know what breeder and if regular or fem.
In my last seed run I included one seed of an Ethos Mac n Jack that produced sticky buds smelling like raw incense and burning like sandalwood with a very happy buzz. It was the best strain that came out of that run and I ran a few clones of all the seeds in that run. It threw some bananas and dropped pollen on one clone about 5 weeks in to flower so I killed it off but I will treasure those buds while they last. I don't know much about Ethos but they must have a heavy incense Jack Herer clone to come up with these seeds. I came across a similar incense trait in Dinafem Royal Haze years ago that also had Jack Herer in its lineage.

So the point of my post is to corroborate that incense can be found in JH and its crosses.

CBG Caribe was also part of that last seed run. It was a leafy bitch that I wouldn't want to trim again and the buds were unremarkable but the smoke fills up the room with a sweet smell that caught my attention. Not quite incense but unique. The buzz is growing on me as it ages. It's not available anymore but was worth mentioning. Its lineage is Jamacian and NL5 x Haze.

@Spaventa
I have already thought that they are very sensitive but I have to start with it otherwise I will never learn it, I have two plants in my grows where I am sure that I can get them very well, so I always have enough to smoke and can
practice with the other 2 plants like with my current grow so it's also more exciting when you open the tent 🧐🫣 and you learn the most while doing it.
I just don't want to spend 120 to 150 euros, but once I've gained my experience I'll do it.

Many people that dont smoke weed at all in different ocasions while they smell smoke of Jack they say it smell exactly like church incense.
I found out that herbaly smelling Jacks phenos smell more on Myrrah while burning...fruty and meaty jacks more like straight church.

The description of many varieties says that they smell of incense, but this is often not the case:
But if anyone is interested, here are a few varieties that are supposed to smell like incense:

But today you have to be lucky is my experience, so 20 years ago you could find such weed in almost every coffeshop in the Netherlands

Todds Ohaze easiest to find the frankincense in. A nice one in every pack.
Agree, but IME not every pack had it. Same with the Jack terp. Out of several packs I've grown I've only seen 1 Jack pheno and 1 pure Frankie. Maybe my luck is lower, lol. Mostly spicy, liver, meaty smells for me, but the highs are all solid across the board.

Great line. H4D (TFD) I've smoked was spicier than Todd's and a bit more heavy on the head. Todd's was super heady and almost dreamy/lucid, while H4D was heady cocaine/meth.

Have yet to try seedsman, tho I have seeds and will get to it sometime.

Can anyone else chime in on their smell/high on the above lines from their experience?

I'll give these strains a chance after my current grow of Neville's Haze, Panama A5 Haze, Liberty Haze, and Blue Cheese. I'm looking forward to Dankincense F2 and Black Jack for their incense smell. I already have the top shelf of the fridge full of seeds of so many strains; it's an addiction.

Seems I'm already lucky with the church incense smell with my current Neville's Haze. It immediately made my eyes go wide 😍. My Panama A5 Haze also has an incense smell, but it's different and not as intense, with a few other scent notes that are very promising. Now I just have to make sure I don't mess up the grow.

I think @Spaventa that you are searching myrrh smell more than Frankeincense.

Jack is straight Frankeincense..
Widow is very Myrrah like maybe try with Widow Jack cross or something alike.

Anybody find it in any of DocD a5 x's?
I found it in the cornito x and the SC pure haze x.... Currently running sour d, chem d, a5/Thai , blueberry, gsc x's few have the smell but haven't cut and smoked to know if it'll carry over to the smoke like the cornito or pure haze but it is there!! If you can find the bandaid 7 x a5/Thai I had 7 of 10 that all had church in the air

Strange that this pheno is so hard to find these days. I remenber around the millenium every Dutch coffeeshop had a haze on the menu with this heavy smoke frankincense smell.

At the time I really hated it, as I thought it was a weird smell and nasty taste. Reminded me of kretek cigarretes. Nothing to do with weed as I knew it. But now it kinda triggers me to find it back for nostalgic reasons.

However, after reading this thread I'm still not much wiser. 🤣

It seems the nowadays illusive frankincense trait is a matter of a severe phenohunt and a whole bunch of luck?

Only haze hybrids (Amnesia haze, Nevilles, Blue Dream) and sativa's I tried untill now were more on the spicy, woody, fruity side of things, never the outspoken frankincense I remember.

Or this can still be relatively easily found in certain strains like Western Winds and Bandaid Haze (if its still available?)?

Other breeders/strains?

Bandaid Haze for sure. Also Cuban Black Haze.

Bandaid Haze for sure. Also Cuban Black Haze.

Are seeds for these strains still available for a good price?

Because most I come across has three digits, which I personally think is a bit steep for a few seeds. 😄

Bandaid haze I only find hybrids. I already have one pack Bandaid Haze 7 x Headbanger cross (Woody) and ordered GHS NL Haze Mist that's supposed to be "herby", so maybe I'll give those a go sometime instead.

Don't know where you can find the seeds, but packs of Doc D's Bandaid Haze 3.0 are probably still out there. At this point, you'll probably save time and money getting a clone of Bandaid Haze #7 or Cuban Black Haze. GMO on Discord has both and usually offers clones for between $100 and $300.

Those prices are a bit too steep for me personally.

Before they banned clones here, you could buy good clones for a few bucks at any growshop here. Don't know why the prices are so high these days.

I'd rather stick to phenohunting myself then. 😅

But thanks for the info anyway, sure to look into those strains!

Amnesia Mac Ganja ( Amnesia Haze x Mexican Haze) has a good incense aroma. Tried Lemon Haze from the coffeeshop, but even the Lemon scent was gone.

I found incredible church in Frankie’s Haze (black Piff x A5 BX from Top Dawg) out of 3 females I grew the taste of one was simply irresistible in smell taste and smoke in the air reminded me of smells from Italy herbal church incense simply Devine.
Growing two more females now one finishing soon around 70+ days but the other is much later prob50-60 days behind and will be extremely long flower. Bought two other packs of Frankie’s to go thru and pick a winner. Also have a pack of Piff Haze to look at. Cheers 🍻

The Neville’s Haze you can buy now doesn’t have it but the original regular seeds line had it loud in all three phenotypes. I grew them in 2008 with seed from 2006.
Same with Hawaiian Snow. The original, (Hawaiian haze x O Haze x Neville’s Haze) also had it. The current line “Hawaiian x Laos” feminised will not.
I’m currently growing an old pack of those regular Neville’s and have an old pack of the original Hawaiian Snow in the fridge to do next.
