Best containers for airport travel?

What with the recent news about bay area airports being medical friendly, I've decided I'm gonna bring a QP with me next time I visit my brother in an undisclosed location. The only sketchy part I guess is when I land in said place (not a medical friendly state..)

I'm planning on taking it in my carryon luggage bagged up and in some mason jars... any better suggestions?

Thanks!

i would put it in just 1 bag/jar so there is no distribution aspect.
what worries me, is that they can call to the airport you are arriving. since you said its not medical friendly, what you have is no longer legal.
if you make it past security and nobody sees it you are home free.
my wifey brought back a gram of medical sour diesel and thought duct taping the ziplock bag was going to work. she stunk up the whole airplane and nothing happened. it was in her huge boobs though. she got in the car and i knew it was quality green but that was just a gram.
lots of people i know including myself would travel with green, but usually under oz. most people keep it on them. taping a vacuum sealed bag to the inside of your cargo pants(where the top part goes over the pocket and snaps or buckels) is great as a pat down will just seem like the pocket flap.
also, you do know how to tell if you will be subjected to the additional screening? there is a code that appears on your ticket. ssss. i called it the "SHIT, super security search" you can print your boarding pass thei night before, and see if you have it.
i used to fly over 100 times a year

good point, i know the puffer machine will not smell it, but im not sure about the "x-ray" camera. i think there is controversy with them as far as privacy, and workers being able to sell pictures of famous people. I don't know if that effected or limited their use.
i haven't flown but a few times in the past 2 years.
you could just check the bag. hide the stuff in a vacuum sealed bag(it will ruin the bag appeal though and flatten it) and then roll it up in a sweat shirt. then roll all of your shirts. alot of business people use that technique to minimize wrinkles. i would also put a copy of your card taped to the bag. that way if they find it, they at least see that.
with all the traveling i did in the past, i've only seen 4 TSA cards in my luggage that said they looked through it. that was in close to 1000 flights. i have no idea if they always leave the card though

I'm curious how this works for you. I would think a food save bag would be bad b/c they can't open it to make sure there isn't a weapon or something hidden inside the sealed bag. Call Oaklands sheriff dept. and tell them you need to fly with your medicine, how do they recommend you do it? Checking it in will lead to stolen goods.

x-ray goes through anything non metal to find metal, so they wouldnt open a bag to get to a weapon, unless the wanted to snatch a few buds, but that would stink up the place

I have taken a little with me when I've traveled. I vacuum seal a few grams and then seal again but with ground coffee between the two seals. I have again sealed and used another layer of coffee at times when I've had some extra stinky. Somebody told me that the coffee kills the smell so that drug sniffer dogs can't smell it. I'm not sure if it's true but I have successfully taken up to 7 grams with me on a plane more than 10 times in the last 5 years. I also take a Valium before I check into the airport so that I'm nice and calm, the drugs also help me with flying as I have a small phobia of crashing (I know - sounds stupid). At least if the plane does go down I'll spend my last moments smoking some killer dank that I pulled outa my shoe. Oh yeah....... Peace out!!!

Drug dogs are trained with hit on coffee and other strong scents. It may cover up the smell a bit to humans, but to a dog it smells like coffee and weed, mmm delicious...

Very helpful. Now the TSA knows exactly what to look for.

And it's true about fooling dogs. You pretty much can't. Their sense of smell is different than ours. They smell individual smells, not combinations of smells. That's why a bloodhound can track a person over crowded city streets and even if they get in car and drive down the freeway. Seneca is right--to a dog, coffee and weed smells like coffee and weed.

Bottom line, when traveling you need to worry about hiding the weed from people and machines. If they bring in a dog, you're probably screwed.

Harvest before Boarding

Harvest before Boarding

Glad to find this thread, 'cause last weekend I was confronted with the "How much to carry on the plane?" question.

The weekend involved a family visit, and harvest of the seven-plant geurilla grow that I had left behind at the end of July (See Julian's threads for all you need to know about "late season minis").

It was great to find my 7 guys after 2 mos. of healthy outdoor living. Too cool. But immediately after harvest, I had a three hour drive to the airport. Trying to trim plants while drivng is a pretty ridiculous challenge. Finally, I am at the airport having gotten halfway through my precious harvest. And I take a whiff. The stuff just REEKED. So...alas... I had to jettison the rest and smoked cigarettes like a fiend.

What if I had just wrapped those remaining 4 plants in 10 trash bags and stuffed in my checked baggage? Would that have been...insane?

you more than likely would be in jail. also to the thread starter. carrying mason jars on carry on luggage would be a no no. the broken glass could be used as a weapon. so sounds like that would be askin for trouble.

yea man, either that or the guys you see loading the plane would have smelled it a mile away, and "lost" it
