Phresh is imported from Australia. Mountain Air, which uses the same carbon as Phresh, is USA. -granger

I bought a Can-Lite and it was half empty . I'm still pissed about it and wont buy their stuff anymore . Pissed at the store that sold it to me too . Dude went all price point on his merchandise and lost a customer.
Active Air has kept me safe for a bunch of years and I will seek them out in the future when I need carbon .

Hey I'm new here and this is my first post, but was wondering how well the active air filter do ?

I was thinking about getting a 5x25 active air filter but not sure how well that size would do. The weight of the filter makes it seem like a good value compared to the other filters in the same price range; what is your experience with this ?

Please and thank you in advance :tiphat:

I've had 2 , 16 x 30 and 2 , 12 x 13's in ten years.No odor gets out . I suggest that you go as large as you can afford.
I recommend and welcome to I.C.Mag

I just returned a Can-Lite filter. The dude at the shop went on/on how the new Can_lite filters are his best seller and that nobody carries the old school Can filters anymore (trying to explain why he didnt have any regular Can Filters in stock). Anyway, took it home, sat the fan on top and the thing proceeded to spit out so much fine charcoal that it coated EVERYTHING in my veg room. Promptly returned it...
That was my experience, your results may vary :tiphat:

asslover.. you should of set it up outside or something first.. we had that happen with a CAN Filter.. and a PHRESH.. but stopped after the initial running of the fan..

we just got can filters.. I had to buy those shelving units that are metal.. and I only used 2 shelves put in my tent. so that the filter can go right at the top of the tent. without fucking up my tent.. I bought a cheap tent. I don't trust the poles to hold 2 big hoods and a big carbon filter so I did it this way.. and it works. great..

I had it for 2 weeks and it spit out charcoal constantly. When i took it back and the dude plugged a fan to it a plume of dust so big came out that it covered the floor of the store. My phresh filter let out dust only the first time i fired it up, nothing after that.
The regular Can filter doesn't use such fine charcoal so it only let out a small amount of dust the first time using it.
Clearly there was something wrong with the Can-Lite filter. Also, but it's weight, i don't think it was full of charcoal...
Others may have great results with the Can_lite, i don't doubt that, but not me :(

Right now, I'm using 4 Phresh. I still have 2 Mountain Airs. One is dry docked and the other is used only in my drying room. -granger

I have Can, Phresh, and Phat. Phat filters are the winner hands down and have been for years. I am in the City with neighbors connected on both sides so filters are serious concern, I run some super smelly dank strains including the Gorilla Glue, which if you pull out a gram outside people can smell it a block away, facts. Filters are the most important part of my set ups, Just trying to help your cause. Phat Filters with Vortex fan FTW.

What do you guys recommend for filters in areas with higher humidity? Has anyone noticed the effect of humidity on the life of their filter?

Vortex makes the best sucker, so I go on and match the profilter. She's a real heavyweight, not to be hung from hollow poles whew

Dunno about the others, but I'll agree that Phat filters work extremely well. I did some homework, bought my first 4X20 when I came back to growing January of 2013. They've delivered good value, lasting ~1 yr in my situation. They're also lighter than pelletized carbon filters, making them easier to hang overhead.

I have no reason to change, probably never will.

As others have said, larger filters don't just last longer but actually work better because of increased contact time between the air stream & the filter bed.

So, I ended up getting a phat 4x12; hydro shop didn't have any ... Filter says 200cfm on the box, does anyone know if this is the minimum or maximum ? I need a bit more negative pressure (might be my fan; have an 8 inch rated at 210cfm with a 4 inch reducer, does that cause a dramatic reduction in cfm ?)
