Sounds almost too good to be true. Any RFI/EMI issues on that thing? How about reliability... what type of warranty is being offered? Personally I'm not a big fan of the dimmable HID thing, in fact I'm almost against it, but that's another topic for another time...

why wpould you be against saving some power??
it had a 5 yr war. and it had stickers saying it was FCC cleared.
i missed a UL label though. probably dosent have it.

i dont know man we had it in the shop, it worked with a pc...

TBO the whole RF issue is so old only small homemade ballasts should experiance thoes tyes of probs.

the 100w bulb put out alot of light at 50%... not sure on wattage pull but 500 sounds good for the ripening phase.

What model / brand 1kw magnetic ballast do you have? I've been searching for some good, reliable, efficient and most importantly, QUIET magnetic 1kw's because a digital 1kw (at the moment) is out of the question due to EMI issues.

Buy from your local shop!!! If your ballast goes bad, you can just switch it out!! I run 3x1000 promethius and in the first month one failed, but all i did was walk in the shop and get a new one...no reciept, no questions...they are the Humboldt Harvest brand. I used to be a fan of buying online...

Digi Ballast online - $300
Digi ballast @ local grow shop - $350
Info and ease of returns from your local grow shop - Priceless

Can ANY of these digi ballasts be used with a flip/flop??

Since i run all my lights off of flips i run only magnetic ballast but would be open to upgrade.

Also is it true or b.s. as to the claims of up to 30% more light.

thanks for the help

Bump

Sorry i hate bumping, but i am in the market to buy new ballasts, but still want to use my flip/flops.... Anyone know digital ballasts that can handle the flip?

thanks

they should work on a flip flop no problem. just not on a generator. They do give off more light
The ballasts still cause interference, so be carefull. Don't want your neighbors tv going static everday at 6pm on the dot!

I broke down today and bought a next gen digi 1000 man that thing is so quiet didnt even strain my back puting it in the car. The reason I bought it is because ive had my sunsystem ballasts (many) go out on me like clock work every 2 years I figure if the digi goes out at least I dont have to haul some heavy piece of shit down to the grow shop to have it fixed. I hate lugging those things around!
