I still dont get the damn green boxes under your name. Why are some lit up and others not lit up? Its like a power meter or something?

Literally have been wondering for 5 years. Thats a long damn time! I only have 1,500 post in 5 years....that seems very little. Then I see cats with like 15,000 post in two years...thats commitment

Maybe there is more to it with the green boxes but my theory is that the first four or five are dark green because that somehow designates a lesser value than the following lighter green ones.

you can't see the other members scales icon because with your low post count you're not able to use the 'scales rep' function. only 21 posts in 5.5 years? @ that rate 50 posts will be attained by you in 7 or 8 years from now.

and btw, you need 1000 posts to give anyone a green rep, pass down your icmag password to your children/grandchildren/greatgrandchildren/etc if your intention is to leave green reps for members here, because again @ the going rate it will be appx 250 years before you get to 1000 posts....... ;)

i guess i deserve that for being a lurker the past five years. oh well. up until 2 weeks ago i only had one post in 5.5 years :tiphat:

if you go to nearly any other forums site you'll find the same dark green/lime green colored tiles representing your reputation, like so:

User is an unknown quantity at this point 0
User is on a distinguished road 10
User will become famous soon enough 50
User has a spectacular aura about 150
User is a jewel in the rough 250
User is just really nice 350

User is a glorious beacon of light 450
User is a name known to all 550
User is a splendid one to behold 650
User has much to be proud of 1000
User has a brilliant future 1500
User has a reputation beyond repute 2000
User is a survivor 3000

it doesn't matter how far passed 3000 points you go, you don't get any extra tiles and 'User is a Survivor' is the highest or best honor bestowed.

oh and thanks for answering my question! now i've got a goal to obtain.

great!

now would that be 50 posts or 1000???

Yep! I think you can do both ...?
"Thanks for adding reputation to this user. May you be lucky enough to receive the same Reputation back in turn." whateverthatmeans?lololol

if you click on the "do you find this post helpful" first, you cannot click on the cauliflower doodad. you can cauliflower, THEN "helpful " but not the other way around. other than that, i am lost...:)

Thats it! It all makes perfect sense now. You should post that information somewhere. I have 1348 points, I have 'much to be proud of'. You can only see it you hover the mouse over those green boxes.

OK, but nowhere did I say that each tile is represented by the new status change:

User has much to be proud of 1000
User has a brilliant future 1500
User has a reputation beyond repute 2000
User is a survivor 3000

as far as I can see your 1539 points match's perfectly as your status says that 'You have a Brilliant Future'

this might clarify what I'm saying.

Let's say I join the boards here and only make 10 posts, but they happen to be the most lucid brilliant posts anyone has ever seen. Everyone that comes across those posts gives me great reps by using the scales rep feature or even just the Helpful vote rep.

every day those 10 posts get uber reps, now a few months later I have only 10 posts but I also have all 11 rep tiles because I've reached beyond the point (Brilliant Future) where that last lime green tile is more or less applied.

Rep tiles are tied to your rep tally, not to posts. when I mentioned that you get no more tiles or any status changes beyond the 3000/Survivor I didn't mean to imply that 3000 points was a new (and last) tile.
