Bed Size?

How ya do, everyone.

I am going to be helping with a disabled friends 72 plant outdoor medical grow this season. Its located in Michigan. Strains include Apollo, Blue Chese, JTR, Critical Sensi Star, Ripped Bubba, Blueberry, and Cotton Candy.

My friend ran 2x2x1 beds last year. He was not too impressed with the yeild. I suggested bigger beds might help.

The plants are going to get a 2 month indoor veg before going outdoors.

What size beds do you suggest he uses?

Well the size of the beds Id suggest depend on his total available space. But just for reference, your friend used a 4cuft bed which is only 30 gallons of soil. Even for only a single plant 30 gallons isn't really a huge amount, though it could grow a decent sized yield with the right strain.

I might suggest something along the lines of a 3x3x1.5, that extra 6 inches of height adds another 34gal of soil capacity to a 3x3. A bed that size would be able to hold just over 100gal and you can grow some monsters in a container that big.

Thank you. I felt that his beds were a bit tiny. The available space isnt really an issue. I want him to go bigger but i dont want to waste soil and materials.

I would advise against growing so many strains, many with different nute requirements throughout the grow period .. but for beds I be looking at kiddie pools
