Spare some thought today for the men that lost their lives, over one million dead and wounded on all sides, volunteers and untrained soldiers involved in 141 days of a brutal war....such courage it's hard to contemplate.

Yes, many of us lost relatives during the battle of the Somme, many children had to grow up without Fathers because of it...

My thoughts are on it today.

Good idea to remember the fallen soldiers fom both sides! I can remember my grandpas storys about WW1. Myself was for 3 days in Verdun to check the old battlefields.
