Bare Bulb Big Boy Room

Well I finally tore apart the two existing rooms 24-5gal bucket RDWC, broke down the wall and put in my 27gal totes with 2" uniseals. Using a 1000GPH pump.
Built the light controller earlier today but going to wait to build the sister room for the flip flop. Got the relays mounted just not wired up.

Are you flipping the ballasts or the bulbs? That second to last pic (with the relay wired up) looks very wrong . There should be one wire per screw.

That is just a light controller flipping the 240 outlets (ballast) on and off.
When I get the Flip flop relay part built it will have one wire pr screw.
It will not be a hot flip. I will shut the ballast off for 5 min. than during that 5 min I will flip the bulbs to the other room than the ballast will flip back on. For a cold start to each room.

My room finishes off at 9'wide x7' deep. With (at the moment) 4-600watters I have 38watts/sq ft. At 63sq ft. When I get that last mogul hung than I will be 3000wats and 47watts sq/ft.

I grew 2-1/2 lb plants with 34 watts per sq ft for many yrs , but the difference in quality and end result product with 50 watts per is/was as different as daylight and dark from my own personal experience.....

Waaaay denser nug structure with increased trichome production compared to the same strain I`d been running for a decade...yield increase.....not so much....but.....

Proof was in the puddin from runnin 1 strain exclusively for yrs till upping watts per sq ft that definitely changed things.....anyways....

38-47 watts per sq ft will suffice Mr B , cuz dialin environment is by far more important than slingin light at their ass.....all about dialage and the journey...50 watts per is something to consider with building and designing new grow areas versus dealing with what`s existing and X sq ftg.....regardless...Good luck and.....

Thanks for the words DHF always appreciated.
I wish I could run just one strain but with patients they always want choices. So I run about 4 different ones.
I got my second flip room built just got to throw the totes in and plumbing. Oh ya and get some mogels for the lights.
I'll throw some pics up later this week.
First room is growing good.

Looking good Mr Blah, I'm tagging this one to see how it goes, just remember to tend to the environment and let the plants get on with what they do, there can be too much messing around at times. Keep the outlet and inlet fans on full blast and make sure you have ample supports for the heavy limbs and enough fans for cooling the bare bulbs when the plants grow out, also run the room dry and see if it stays at "perfect" before you plant out.

Thanks Aardwolf.
Right now with the 8" fan and 4-600watters it is moving around the low 80's which is OK for me...for now. With 4 plants all ready in there on week 2 flower I know it will get hotter.
Also have a Dehumidy in there as well.
I got to get a 10 or a 12 fan going. But with money tight it will have to wait.
The other room has a 12k btu ac with no fan (yet). we'll have to see if that will do better.
The first room (pics above) is 9'x7'wx7'h. The second that I am almost done with is 10'x7'wx7'h.

I installed a 12,000btu wall ac in the next room. Do you think I need supplemental exhaust? Or do you guys think this will cool the 3k (5-600w) worth of lights it self? 490cuft.

4000 btu`s per 1 KW cooling is required , but overkill never hurt anyone with grow setups....and yeah....

12000/1 ton wall banger will cool 3 KW but it`ll work harder without air exchange twice per minute till yas can put it in the budget...or are you runnin it as we discussed earlier ....and....

Is the wall banger equipped with "auto-restart" in case of power outages from storms/brownouts ?......Seen many setups over the yrs fried from lights comin back on but not wall bangers....

Good luck....DHF.....:ying:.....

Yes, it has the auto restart.
Right now the first room up and going is having trouble with the air exchange/heat. Have to leave the door open so temps can be in the 80's.
Right now it will have to do for that room. Till I get more funds.
Wish I could get the numbers like you use to. I will be lucky to get 8oz pr plant, not because of the room set up or design but the genetics.
Slowly but surely we'll get there.

Finally a picture of the first room.
Week 2 flower.
Biggest one is Blue Hell 5' tall and 5' wide (about)
the one on the right of it is MOB and the one out front is Cheese. The one on the other side that you can't see is G13.
Small but it will have to do for the first go.
Yes I know still missing that middle bulb.
