I have some of those seeds on the way Thule, it will be interesting to see how they compare as we travel the long road we have ahead of us.
If you jump in for the long haul, you might as well fill the bus.

Hey brother Hawaian, how's the weather in Hilo these days? I got you on the list bro.

So here's how my favorite seedling is doing.
I have 5 healthy seedlings all going on their third set of leaves. All very healthy, just transplanted from straight coco to amended coco. I am only feeding with teas other then the fortified coco. I fortify it with kelp meal, crab meal and alfalfa meal. The one in the pic is a little yellow but will really green up in this mix.

They are growing with a lot of vigor that I was not expecting and I noticed when transplanting from 3" pots that their root system was no where near as developed as the tops but the are growing fast regardless.

Not much to show, they are getting taller, about 5" now, still no branching.
I am kind of backed up and need to move things down the line, but I have to wait for others to finish before I can put them under more light. So they are doing good, just not growing super fast. Starting to see some phenotypical differences, like wider leaves on one, one shorter with closer internodes but nothing major, no sex showing or anything like that.
This one is going to go for long stretches before any major updates as I'm afraid they are not growing very fast, even though I am keeping the temps warm.
I need to get the Oaxacan/PR's into flower and make more room under the light.

You're very welcome 420, they are taking their time at the moment, but that's a good thing because things are kind of backed up a bit here. Need to make some room and give them more light.
I will shoot a shot of them in a couple of weeks and hang it up, hopefully by then they will kick into high gear. Cheers!

Very nice Thule, that is a holy plant you got there.
Jah Hoover... what was the smoke like in Bangladesh in 06?
Was there any resemblance in the high to the descriptions Chaman and Loader give?
Was it one of those zingy, spicy sativas of the old days?

if i reamember well it was one of those weeds that some could smoke pure and not get freact out ...it was somewehere
slightly trippy (but no anixie)... it was a long lasting dreamy sativa ... i actualy don't reamember the taste... could easly be spicy ... the smell was quite on the point lavender maybe not as overpointing as real lavender but quite there with some spic'nes...

hi guys.. i am bangladeshi, so let me tell you about the beauty of weed from my country
firstly the ganj part in Narayanganj (pronounced as naran-goonj) stands for districit, ganj means district. no relation to ganja. but this region is famous for its great weed varieties, i dont think you have tried enough types of weed in bangladesh.

anyways, i think i know the weed you are talking about, i think the main reason it works so well is that it was grown organically for hundreds of years. weed is important to the hindus and sufi (a part of muslim) culture and also to budhists.

For any future goers to bangladesh, dhaka has too many shitty quality weed, you dont get anything good there, its really hard to get good stuff since there are too many people trying to make a buck or two and will sell shit for it. If you want to find any decent stuff in bangladesh you can ask a young looking rikshaw drivers for "cha-cha" (or "gaja" if they dont get you). But getting good weed in dhaka is near impossible, unless you know the growers yourself.

Anyways, when i am in bangladesh i spend my summer in a place called laksham, the weed you get there is mainly sativa dominant, and the 8 hour highs aren't unheard of. 5~6 hours is more like the average. The weed there is excellent, for the past 5 years i always bought my weed from an old lady who cures them and grows them herself. I dont think the strain has a proper name that all bangalis recognize, most of my friends call it Moner Moyna (roughly translated means the mind's lovebird). They grow pretty well in tropical weather, but the yields are lower, i usually buy them at 3USD for ~10g ... quite cheap, i know, and i pay generously according to the standards there.

I just recently started growing weed, and i am going with western varieties like white widow and other species. however this time when i go to bangladesh i will probably try and get some seeds.

The shitty part is, in recent years a considerable amount of extreme muslims have been targeting hindus and budhists, and their numbers have been falling since 1970s and along with that a considerable acceptance of weed has been falling, but we still hold weedfests :D where we get stoned and stay stoned for days, and dont have to come down until we feel like it. We also have a coconut juice mixed with spices and some type of weed, tastes "greeny" and fresh, and the high is as though your mind is having parallel orgasms.

Wow, "parallel orgasms" sounds good to me.
I could really go for a five to six hour high.
Thank you for your most welcome input Cheeseaddict
What kind of flavors do you taste and smell from the herb over in Bangladesh on those 5-6 hour high producing herbs?

I fully agree with what cheeseaddict said, earlier this year I was in Bangladesh mainly Dhaka and experienced those 6 hour highs and for one I am so glad to hear that other people experienced them highs also as I thought it was only me. it was so strange for me to see what looked liked normal brown weed but oh my them highs were so different to anything ive experienced I couldn't work it out, ive been smoking high grade in the UK for years but one spliff of bush weed there completely finished me. I Am very intrested to learn more about genetics in this region and learn about the farming techniques because all the weed I smoked out there was seedless which was very impressive.

most of the weed I tried there smelt and tasted very similar although from different sources, however one stood out to me as it fully smelled like mango even the taste was a strong mango taste like real fruit flavour it was quite amazing.
