From what I understand Bangi Haze does not have any "Haze" genetics.
It's basically a worked polyhybrid line, so if you want to grow a "Haze" hybrid check the "Haze" section on Ace site.
What type of plants do you want to grow?

My Pangi was very hazy with almost root beer cola terps. I want to revisit this line, but first I would love to try pure Bangi haze, as I've heard she is also a trippy one.

I have a couple fem bangi haze going now I got around 5 years ago.
I’ve read there is some silver haze or super silver haze in there early on , I’ve also read what’s listed in this pic posted somewhere else on a site , is it at all accurate ?
From what I understood it’s a Congo( paki chitral kush x African Congo ) , Nepal with some haze very early on ,either way looks interesting and looking forward to watching them finish.
Is it Congo x haze ?

@dubi

I find that a bit confusing. Because the ACE website states that Bangi Haze is an F8 stabilized Congolese/Nepalese hybrid.

If Super Silver Haze or another Haze was crossed in there, then I would expect that to be stated on the ACE website.

Well yes I would expect that but there is this,
Also pure African and Nepalese lines tend to take a bit longer than 8-10 weeks to finish.
Would be more like 16-24 weeks imo

Just as a Malawi landrace normally blooms for 16-24 weeks?

That is also from ace … look at some other descriptions for Malawi flowering times , some of what I posted is from the people at ace so I’m just asking for clarification.

I think Dubi has confirmed it in this thread that there is no actual haze in it. See this post. But yes, it is unfortunately a bit confusing. This is a really old strain, like 25 years old now or something. It has passed through several breeders hands and many generations of line breeding. So some of the details about the breeding and selection are probably lost. What you see here in this thread from all these growers is probably the best info about what to expect from the plant.

Good luck with your grow! Any pictures yet?

One of the posts I shared was from Dubi , from this thread (post 16 page 1) stating it has a little bit of haze influence , did you open the pics I shared ?
Congo haze was ssh x Congo , the Congo has paki chitral kush in it per aces own description, pretty sure that was from reeferman.
No pictures yet they are just now showing there first little hairs.

Bangi Haze has a different Congolese in it's makeup, neither Bangi Congo nor Congo #3. It's not the Congo stain from ACE nor any of the Congolese that went into breeding it.

I remember dubi saying in „the potcast“ he never understood why the people breeding the line before him named it bangi haze, when it never contained any haze. Afaik

Yup. I guess you can choose for yourself whether to trust what Dubi said 19 years ago or 2 years ago. I don't think you will get a different answer from him now compared to 2 years ago. Since he didn't breed the strain, only continued the line from others' work, there is/was confusion/mystery about its origins. And unfortunately the original breeders are no longer available or not with us anymore, otherwise you could ask them if they remember the details.

If you need a strain that has haze or definitely doesn't have haze, probably choose something else. Or if you need a strain with a definite pedigree. Also I think this one is at F8 now or something? So it has probably changed quite a bit from the initial cross due to the selection over time, too.

Yeah I see where he says the Congolese is a different one now then what they used in other work , I understand it was a long time ago and I don’t really care what the specific make up was if nobody knows for sure. It’s just apparent to me a Congo/nepalese sativa finishing in 10 weeks or less must have taken a lot of time and work if at all even possible to create.once stories change I tend to take all of it with a huge grain of salt.
They seem like nice plants so far , the stem rub smells good , we shall see what they become.
They look like your average hybrid so far , fat leaves , normal node spacing etc
I would bet they have ssh and maybe something else in them in the early days of breeding.

I have never felt there was SSH in any of the Bangi Haze I have grown.
Every year between my friends and I we always have around 10 or so Bangi going. We freaking love it! It’s always super easy and we’ve never had a bad plant, they have always been above average or excellent.

Zero similar terpenes to SSH and from everything I’ve grown crossed with Neville’s gear it doesn’t behave the same way as it flowers.

Nice to hear everybody seems to like the terps , I have two going now from fem stock, they stink already and are just showing hairs , definetly unique for a sativa , fat fingers on big fan leafs but should be neat to see finished , if either seem worth while I’m going to cross them to the og kiss male I have hanging around.
