I think it will be better for my documentation of my work to do it on the forum, so here I am.
The story starts with the single Bangi Haze that sprouted and wasn't a runt from my two packs I got from ACE via Seedbay. Dubi sent me two packs of NepJam as consolation, but I have kept the BH direction.
I've had my Bangi indoors first and was able to make clones for the outdoor season. Same winter I got some BH x Purpurea Ticinensis seeds bred by Esben. One of the 3 BHPT females was reversed with STS to pollinate my BH clones. She was a big plant with large leaves, basically a purple version of Esben mother. Smell was hashy, sweet purple, not as good as her sister that was phenomenal pure sweet melon, but horribly spindly and leafy (spot was shit though, too much shade).
That year I also had some ManitobaMedicine x GuerillaGold and they were chosen for their very early finish and nice hard buds. They proved strong, but not good. Would wreak me and leave with a hangover.
The following year both crosses were put to a test.
MMGGxBHPT turned out fairly diverse. One was shit, no resin, spindly flowers. One was super early, done in the last days of August. The rest were done second half Sept with beautiful resin cover. One with massive yield, that I shall call Gloria, was chosen along the fast one for STS treatment.
A selection of BHxBHPT received the pollen. Mostly from Gloria, but B1 and B2 got the mix of both.
This year I planted a bunch of the resulting seeds, 22 for selection and breeding.
What I want to get from this medley of Bangi Haze, Guerilla Gold and Purpurea Ticinensis are columnar style plants that are done by end of Sept, covered in sticky resin and strong good smell. Hardy outdoor plants with strong branches and resistant to botrytis.
The Bangi Haze strong electric high that served me so well the last few years is the goal.
I'd like to get the sweet melon smell, but in this selection only the heavy and thick sweet thing going on. I find it extremely difficult to describe smells, so suffice to say that it's instantly recognizable to me and I like it. Max intensity. + for that.
Only one has a different smell. More green and sour and without the deep note so defining for her sisters. E4 we shall call her. Short plants with massive buds. The only Gloria dominant expression.
The other ones can be separated into two categories:
The spears - more upwards, with a pronounced, long main bud.
The big ones - more lateral branching, fist-like buds.
Here is my garden.
Bangi Gloria C4 and E5, the earliest one.
Puffing on the Congo as I type and listen to Masala Soundsystem.
From what I've seen so far I think I can corroborate dubis words on the Bangi Haze being dominant in crosses.
It's been a pleasure to grow and smoke her and her offspring.
