Ballasts in the Attic

Anybody done it?


A few of my concerns would be even though I vent up there it still can get quite hot, would that effect the efficiency of the ballast or perhaps more likely to catch fire?

Not sure if excess heat will effect the efficiency of the ballast but it could certainly effect the longevity of the ballast as excess heat could very well cause early failure. As for creating a fire. If you take the time to clear away combustible materials and place the ballast on something non combustible then you should be ok

I don't believe that heat is a factor in a ballasts efficiency. Heat would be a big factor for the integrity of the ballast
