I got some mexican bat guano 12-2-2 I took a tablespoon and spread the dry turds around the top of my soil, watered like normal. The plant has snapped back and budding looks good. Ill snap a pic after they wake up.
Ah the fun of the purple stem dance. I went through this a couple of months back.
So typical first cause of purple stems - In so cal our water here holds about 450ppm at the tap (my house runs over 800ppm outside) and usually causes all kinds of cool nutrient lockouts. I filter my water with a zero water filter (comes with an EC pen - total 35 bucks) which drops it to 002ppm and then I add in tap to bring it back to 150ppm. Let that stand for about 24 hours and then pour it on em, seemed to solve the salts/chlorine related issues.
Second cause - too much of one nutrient and not enough of the others. When I first screwed around with growing we used a 10-0-0 guano and the stems went nearly solid purple on us. I know, fail.
Third cause - cold night time temps will do it as well to certain strains which is the reason my white diesel looks the way it does. My average nightly temp drops into the 59-64 range daytime in the 72-77 range. This temp has not affected the Madness(hybrid strain) or P91(indica) on either side of the white diesel, after looking into it, white widow will purple if put on ice.
my stems are always purple an have been for a while on all my strains i do, i jus thought it was normal, but its got me thinkin now. never notice any kinda diff in yeilds or wotever
