I dig that you are growing various CBD rich varieties, I have only dabbled in them because my grows tend to fill up quickly with my heirloom work but the progress that is being made with CBD variants is amazing 🤩 and now you have me thinking about this CBDV. Especially because you feel it’s more effective. When I first experienced THCV rich Malawi Gold I couldn’t believe how potent that herb was. I began to research the cannabinoid studies and learned it amplifies psychedelic effects and is an appetite suppressant which made sense as to why that herb made me so energetic and uninterested in food for much longer than other varieties. I’m very interested to learn more how your CBDV x oneness turns out.

Thank you my brother 🙏🏼 I grew it once before but didn’t get any males and so I pray this time I am able to reproduce the line 🤞 it’s a really nice variety just like the other stuff I have tried from Flash. I would like to pursue a breeding project with something like Holy Man crossed with my Peruvian. I feel that getting the Peruvian into auto lines would be quite worthwhile. I’m honestly surprised that you were disappointed with the Heavens Haze. With Neville’s haze in the genetics I thought it would be something nice. What was it about the variety that didn’t wow you? Did you repoduce any of the flash lines? I never heard of his Shaolin Master, what were the genetics on that one?

Thank you for this insight 🙏🏼 I have family members who have Celiac and it’s always great to have belly soothers. We brew kombucha to help with that but knowing this type of tincture can help is super nice 😁 I like to use organic grain free vodka and organic pure ethanol for extractions which is around 200 proof. My wife values quality so I like to invest in top grade ingredients for her 😊

Do you buy your alcohol or do you distill it yourself? I’m playing around with the idea of making my own at some point. Would be a really fun project 😎

Yes 🙌🏼 fermentation is the only way to true quality herb (my experience and opinion). Just how medicinal herbs have been fermented traditionally, cannabis is no different. It brings out the unique qualities and diminishes or removes certain “negative effects”. I always advocate for at least giving it a try to see if you like it. Chances are you will fall in love with the smooth smoke and deep character of the effects. Eating it is completely different than fat based edibles. I am not into eating edibles but I regularly chew and eat the ferments. It feels more like smoking but is deeper and longer lasting. 🙏🏼

Blessings be with you my brother 🙏🏼

I see that you've got a grow tent as well as the lovely outdoor garden. Do you produce flower in there, or just use it for vegetative plants?

I think of the CBDV herb as being what I had hoped CBD would be, if that makes sense. As I've said before, those CBDV autos from seedsman have not grown very well for me. They remind me of the very first autoflowers I grew years ago... lowryder level of output. I bought those seeds a few years ago, I'm sure there are better CBDV varieties available by now.

THCV is really interesting. Some breeders now offer THCV strains. One of these days, I'll go to the dispensary and get some gummies to try out.

I didn't really give the Heaven's Haze a fair evaluation. The first year I grew them was the year I had the first oneness plant. After harvest, I only smoked that and an old Trinity county indica strain that I I like (seeds back from the time people just tried to grow good weed, before you couldn't sell stuff unless it had the right name) and everything else just got tossed into the hash pile. A few years later I grew a single female that I didn't enjoy. There are probably good things waiting to be found in that gene pool. I have lots of seeds from that first year, I'll try again someday.

I've read through a lot of @Tangwena cob thread. It seems like everyone there speaks as highly of it as you do. I'm excited to get some going.

Peace and blessings to you my friend 🙏

I definitely feel a stronger, cleaner impact from CBDV compared to CBD. I've only tried Pine Walker and Forbidden V from Oregon CBD (via a vendor, not grown them myself). They are both very nice; excellent flavor and about 50/50 CBDV and CBD. Hoku Seeds has a fair amount of CBDV crosses also.

I took the time to read through all of this @Baba Karuna , your work with the Egyptian Sinai line is what initially caught my attention, but then I saw the beautiful Peruvian flowers you have grown! The cross you made of those two lines with the blueberry scent sound amazing and I look forward to hearing more when you get a chance to explore those seeds further. It’s also enlightening to hear you mention enjoying and selecting for more spiritual effects. Your description of the pure Peruvian as being blissful, soaring, energetic, happy, upbeat, and high vibration is exactly the kind of herb I enjoy too. The first time I tried flower of such nature it really blew my mind how it can envelope the heart chakra with no anxiety in such a happy bliss. A lot of the modern hybrids definitely get you 'high' but they dont activate that special vibration, I often wonder what terpene or minor cannabinoid is responsible for such an effect. Lastly I have never fermented cannabis or tried any but it was interesting to see your finished products and descriptions!
Wonderful to have you here my friend 🙏🏼 always nice to meet another fellow enthusiast that appreciates the spiritual value of the herb 🙌🏼

For me it is all about that spiritually stimulating effect 😍 and just like you said it, the ways it envelopes the heart chakra in bliss and free anxiety is just so freeing! That liberating energy this herb can produce is what I am passionate about sharing with others. I still remember that first time like it was yesterday. My friend shared what little stash he had secured of primo Himalayan charas and the heart opening radiance I experienced changed my life 🥰

I too have wondered if there is a cannabinoid that is responsible for it especially because the “rose” flavored plants I have grown produce that particular effect so intensely but I also have it heavily displayed amongst various flavors. I also believe in the ability of cannabis to accumulate not only physical compounds but also mental and energetic substances. So I put my focus of love into the process. It’s such a blessing to witness the transforming power this herb has had on me and the lives of my fellow human beings 🙌🏼🙏🏼

Are you going to be pursuing fermentation in the future?

Indoors I switch between using the tent to start outdoor garden plants and producing flowers or doing seed projects. I currently am running a 12/12 from seed setup to get some breeding projects and perpetual bud production for testing various strains.

The amount of new specific cannabinoid focused varieties available is always changing and I can’t keep up 😵‍💫 buy after trying some of the “hemp” type cbd varieties I can see what you mean. I wasn’t too wowed by a lot of them but if CBDV is anything like THCV then I can imagine how much better it might be compared to CBD. I have had some Cannatonic that had an absolutely beautiful effect but the yield was spindly and low but sometimes the “best” varieties yield the least. Almost like they put all their energy into quality instead of quantity.

@Tangwena is a legend for starting that thread 🙌🏼 he done so much for the community by sharing his insight and knowledge. That thread is a true treasure trove of cannabis wisdom 😎 Looking forward to seeing your journey with Cobbing 🙏🏼

The cross you made of those two lines with the blueberry scent sound amazing and I look forward to hearing more when you get a chance to explore those seeds further.

I have been sampling and evaluating the few plants I harvested from the Peruvian 🇵🇪 x Sinai 🇪🇬 line which I dubbed “Persephone”.

I had 3 expressions:

1. Blueberry and Peaches
2. Pineapple
3. Cotton Candy Bubblegum

All of them grew quickly and easily and began to flower at around the same time except the Cotton Candy plants which began to flower around 2 weeks later and thus finished later. Those cotton candy expressions also yielded much less and did not branch heavily. The pineapple and the Blueberry were heavily branched in comparison and yielded much more. The highest yielding plant was the blueberry and peaches. They flowered quickly and were finished in late October. This was far sooner than the pure Peruvians and that was one of my initial goals concerning this cross. Both parents being strong has made this F1 fantastic in regards to vigor, hardiness, potency and flavor 🙌🏼

Now onto the effects. They come on smooth and strong and produce a focused mind, upbeat mood and is quite energizing. This is good herb for meditation, outdoor activities, studying/reading, and creative pursuits or socializing. I will say that there is a pressure in the head similar to the old Headband strain. I like the effect a lot but my wife doesn’t (she disliked headband because of the head pressure). I used some before bed two times now and wasn’t able to sleep for a few hours because of how energetic this herb is. Vaporized it is smooth after fermentation and has a good flavor. The original taste is carried through somewhat but has also morphed into a sweet, earthy essence as well.

I am evaluating where I want to go with this cross as my wife isn’t a big fan of it and I really enjoy breeding varieties that she will love. She appreciates the vibe of the Afghan Mama (Malana Cream 🇮🇳 x Kandahar 🇦🇫) and I allowed some males from that line to pollinate the Persephone, and I would like to sample one of those and see how it evolves.

Took some shots the other day in the greenhouse. I don’t have supplemental lighting in there so the herbs are tad wispier but they will make great cooking material. I was running a seed production on the Kerala Gold but the cold weather seems to have stressed my males and they aren’t producing pollen like they should. Looks like fewer seeds are beginning to form 🤞 So we shall see.

I once worked with a guy who was just miserable: depressed, mean, sad and negative. He set up a grow tent in his bedroom but after harvest couldn't stand to smoke what he grew. He said it made him feel terrible, even borderline suicidal. Eventually, he sold it all cheap and bought some other weed that didn't make him feel terrible (I feel bad for the poor soul who ended up with that cursed cannabis)

At the end of 2019, I was hanging out with a friend pretty often and smoking all of the different strains I'd grown that year. At one point he said, "you grow the best weed I've ever smoked!" This guy had been smoking for 25 years and had even followed The Dead around for a few, so he had smoked his share of cannabis. I laughed and said, "Nope, It's just the same backyard schwag I grow every year". He agreed that it wasn't all that strong, but said that I must have done something to it and suggested that it was because I talked to the plants and paid a lot of attention to them.
The thing was, I actually had done "something". I had tied strings to every plant that came together in the center so it was like half of a spider web. I'd set my Bluetooth speaker right in the center and play music all day, every day. I wasn't working and was still enjoying the previous year's oneness harvest, which was especially elevating and happy, so I was in the yard having fun daily. It was like a party that lasted all summer, my plants and I as the main guests. And yes, I talked to them all of the time. My friend was right: everything I grew that year felt like a literal backyard party in smokable form.

I agree with you; I think cannabis absorbs and accumulates a lot more than just the nutrients in the soil.

Love this story! Thanks for sharing brother 🙌🏼 you put those positive vibrations into your garden and it expanded 🤩 That must have felt so good knowing that he felt your love and positive energy permeating his being through your smoke 🥰

I had many experiences in the past smoking herb that had an unpleasant vibe that made me uncomfortable and I knew it was because of the energy surrounding its cultivation. I have also heard from many individuals that they have experienced that same outcome. Conscious cultivation of herb and one’s mindset is always beneficial. Like you said, the guy had to get rid of his herb because he couldn’t stand it.

It reminds me of something my teachers taught me: By cultivating a positive mindset, we have nothing to lose and everything to gain. By not cultivating a positive mindset, we have everything to lose and nothing to gain. The best herb and food has always been that which is nourished and crafted with love 🥰

Thanks for sharing the love my brother 🙏🏼

Yes Im going to try my hand at fermentation at least once. Ive been slowly reading through the thread by Tangwena as I get time and taking some notes now that you've inspired me. Im curious how fermenting could alter the effects of my favorite plant and it gives me a reason to grow out some corn. The last few years I have been learning to ferment my own sourdough, yogurt, and kombucha so why not some herb too 😀

Very synchronostic, this mantra has been resonating with me a lot lately and come through many avenues... Thank you for holding this space @Baba Karuna, great conversations here 🙏

You’re going love the fermentation journey 🙌🏼 I am a big fan of making yogurt and kombucha (I brew Jun which uses honey instead of sugar). It’s only natural to evolve our fermentation crafts 😋 and if you’re growing your own corn even better. I grew some bloody butcher red corn and some purple Hopi that were amazing and the husks made excellent cob wrappers 🤩 if you want some corn seeds let me know. I’m happy to share 😊

Love the synchronicities my friend very grateful to know that the mantram is resonating with you 🙌🏼 I greatly appreciate you adding to the positive vibrations of this thread 🙏🏼

I've applied my fermentation skills to keep a ready supply of ethyl alcohol around the casa for cleaning purposes. My bubble bags and what not.

The corn sounds wonderful. I wish i had more room. 🌽

I'm patiently waiting for spring. 🌱
Curious how my 200 garlic plants made it through the winter.

Those are great looking garlics 🤩 Super cool you make your own alcohol! What did you use to ferment?

If you find extra room for some 🌽 then send me a pm. I have plenty of seed 😊

Ethiopian 🇪🇹 x Maruf Kandahar 🇦🇫 are coming along nicely. This is the F2 seed production, the F1s were beautiful 😍 outdoors they grow huge with thick and dense buds. Some plants are large and bushy and others are more Christmas tree shaped. They tend to flower fairly quickly and finish around October. Super resinous and delicious 😋 Seeds are just starting to ripen. I didn’t take photos of the males but they were quite large in their small pots and had long top colas that were thick with flowers. This line puts out the yields. The original Maruf mother was enormous and grew in a giant orb shape. I’m hoping to find some expressions like that in the next generation 😎

Been swamped lately with my indoor garden and getting the outdoor/greenhouse projects situated. Having a lot of fun cleaning seeds and planting new ones. 🤩

Harvested a bunch of Maruf Kandahar (Rotten Meat Pheno) x Ethiopian (Floral Pheno) F2 seeds as well as that line crossed to the Peruvian Tropical Plastic Candy Pheno and some of my Favorite Nigerian as well as Satori (Nepalese).

I culled some of the volunteers in my outdoor area (removing males and stragglers). My patch of Cretan 🇬🇷 x Sinai 🇪🇬 x Malana Cream 🇮🇳 x Kandahar 🇦🇫 is looking great. Going to keep thinning them out as needed. Looking for the one who will emerge victorious 💪🏼

Speaking of victorious, this volunteer looked special from the beginning. I knew it had to be a female based on how beautiful it was and she just recently revealed her sex 🙌🏼 Pretty sure this one is a Senegal 🇸🇳 x Ethiopia 🇪🇹 x Malana 🇮🇳 x Kandahar 🇦🇫 got her mulched real nice with a hearty helping of composted manure under burlap bags. Tying her down to really spread out those bud sites 🌞

Indoors I started a new crop of Kali Chakra (Mandala Seeds), and Oaxacan (Cryptic Labs) courtesy of my beautiful friend @gedLang 🙌🏼🙏🏼 super excited to see how those come along 😁

Praying for all my friends here to have a beautiful start to the season, filled with much love, joy, and peace 😊🙏🏼
