Yeah, I have two different models of thermaltake fans and they both have the same choices:
All the stuff is included and just plugs together and works well. The speed dial is a little touchy like, you can have it on minimum, then turn it 90 degrees and it will still be on minimum, then in a short twist it will go from min to max, then stay on max for the rest of the turn. It's not an issue and overall it works great and you can get whichever speed you desire.
Right now I'm using the speed dial on the fan blowing on my bulbs, and I've used it a lot in the past in PC grows. Works very well and the fan itself is not too shabby although there are more powerful fans around. On the whole I recommend it to a lot of people because it's just so versatile. At slowest speed it's close to silent. You have to concentrate to hear it. On full speed it's louder than anyone's PC that I've heard. But that's okay if we're talking about cooling because you'll never find a quiet pc fan that cools as well as a loud one. No free meals. I want my fan to make noise, you dig? So the smart case fan II is whatever you want it to be. Here are the specs:
On my sticker it says .40 amps so I dunno about that. Personally I think it's a misprint on the sticker as the box and the internets say 0.48A.
You can also get speed controllers with several dials that will control several fans or sets of fans, but I have no experience. I think a lot of them need to be hooked up to a motherboard to work perhaps.
- Full speed
- Thermostat type operation
- Manual speed control via an analog dial
