There are lots of growers, more than you know. The are other growers that don't grow illegal stuff, cops would have to weed them out before going after something else.

From what I know and have seen unless your grow room is bigger then 10 feet by 10 feet you arent pushing shit, you may think you are but your not. However all the grows out there are going to have to keep their shit to themselves if your wanting answers as to why then go into the bathroom slap yourself shitless and say "Bad boy" and so long as growers keep to themselvesa it will always be like this. True it is legal to smoke and sell weed in parts of the world, BUT REGAURDLESS of where you live as a grower you take the risk of having your door knocked down. In amsterdam, anywhere you go where it can be sold, there are restictions out of the ass for grows and how much they can supply. Growers have been sticking up for their grows and growing buisness, and those that do usually end up in jail or end up going through weeks if not months of paper work and stress just to find out they are in the clear. The weed world is being taken over by small time growers like me and most people on this site. Until the growers get laws passed to where they dont have to hide so the cops dont know whom is supplying the coffee shops or what have you and to where the grows can supply freely, then every single one of us has to follow the rules so we dont get caught, which means there could be strains with medical properties we dont know about yet and los of other stuff the Marijuana community is missing out on. Yes i realizeyou can support the cause without exposing yourself, but soon as you walkk up there all they see is a person withj a damn "STONER" stamp on their forehead. You might be a grower for someone else whom is sick and dont even smoke yourself, but yet they dont know that, your still in hiding like a dumbshit. Yes i say dumbshit for one reason, how many growers have lost friends? Family? over growing a fucking plant? For you smokers who dont grow you wont understand until you grow, for those of us in the US, you get a slap on the wrist for our blunt, us growers...we go to prision =D yay for us, so smokers plz dont comment if your not a grower because you arent facing the risk and no you dont know what its like, end of story.

Anywho main point is, you should be stressed or you can choose the other road as suggest before me by Headiez and not grow. Just wanted to remind you of the risk, its all fun and games, til the cops are actually knocking at your door.

Already did my time so i can tell you from experince, be worried, use every safety measure YOU think is best, if you think spreading peanut butter over your grow house to stop the smell by all means go for it....when the cops ask tell them your making a life size gingerbread house lmfao...serious dont do that, its stupid. As far as safty advice, look to fellow growers which is what you did and your getting the info you need to grow safly on your thread, these guys got good advice...but they need to work on giving all the advice not some of it.

My best advice i can give if you choose to you and dont wanna get caught you must meet all of these not on all of them.
1. Live by yourself Even if your grow room is not in your house hold, people tend to bring work home with them...a empty nute container can get you busted is seen by the wrong people. Even a girlfriend been dating you for 10 years a be a snitch, If you feel you can trust them then pay with their life, because thats what your letting being done with yours.

2.Tell not one single THING, Not the damn homie next door, not a tree or a rock, nothing! Talking to yourself is still TALKING, you can hear it and it can be overheard. For those of you whom think talking to a rock is stupid...how many of you have ever talked to yourself? shit slips out. so dont even talk about your grow period, not even to yourself when your all alone.

3. Keep a mid grade bag on you when you smoke at all times!!!!!!!!!!!!! <---Believe it or not this is probably the most important rule( because so many people never mention it or think about it). Stoners tend to hang with other stoners...bragging isnt cool, dont impress your friends with some very dank shit when they know the place they live the stuff you have isnt avaible for buying, this is a dead give away. Say i live in some hick town with shit weed and all of the sudden you got white widow. How many of your stoner friends whould ask where they can get some? or how you came cross seedless weed when everything avaible is seeded? How your intellect and knowledge of marijuana came from all the sudden? Simple questions that can easily be dodged true. Say you successfully dodge each question, you are still stuck with what where empty heads without a clue, are now heads filled with questions they didnt ask and every head now has a red flag, fyi that wont be the last time that dank will be brought up, you can plan on answering these questions over again when the story of that blunt or joint is brought up.

4. Grow room/box design - You need to 05 proof your box now. 0 light needs to escape that place you grow. I use the 5 inch rule for smell, you shouldnt be able to smell your grow room from 5 inches of where it is, on all sides. Your grow place or room shouldnt look like one. Camo your shit to look like a everyday place or room or cabnit.

5. Online - take every safe way you think of using online stuff, even this site, but one thing is for sure, your computer has a IP address. With that they can find ya =D. This one is probably the least likely way to get busted I have never ran into someone who got busted for theuy grow by being online and hopefully it stays that way, just saying posting your shit online. isnt the best idea.

6. Trash - For this i suggest a burn barrel, only sure fire way of destroying shit that doesnt need to go in trash which can be looked through. Burn any emptyu conaiters, bad plants, anything you use for your grow opt that you find is now trash needs to be burned.

7. The quickest way you'll get busted is selling what you grow. Never ever sell what you grow. In the drug dealing buisness growing is the top of the food chain, no its not being "the boss" if you sell what your growing its pure profit - expenises = top dollars. which puts you at the top of the radar, because you just broke at aleast 3 rules, the three most important ones at that.

8. POWER USAGE - Sending up red flags to the power company is a good way to get caught to. only siure fire way of avoiding this is a well and generators and even then, depending on power usage, you can still get caught by thermail imaging, HPS lights shine like the sun under them, good news is, it will take a few HPS systems to rise a red flag

So if you post about your idea but are ashamed to rock it out in the open then people will contiune to explot the fact that they CAN and WILL in all probablity arrest you for it. CA law enforcement cant stop the growers...let me repeat that THEY CANT STOP THE GROWERS. On nation ass TV these stupid ass cops tell the whole state they cant stop it. >_> Thats a sure fire way of getting us to stop growing for sure =P

If you're not selling, and being careful with EVERYTHING ELSE then there is no reason to feel you should be on the radar....

I completely agree, if you sell your going to get busted.. if you give some away to your friends anything like that.

Getting caught could be a reality. So my advice is if you couldn't handle the possibility of jail then I wouldn't grow. Cause no matter how stealth it is unless its a legal grow, there is always the possibility of getting caught

If your name is on a list via online purchase(and it very well may be), the only honest is answer "I don't know."

Maybe they never utilize it, following the general guidelines put fourth by the admin. to make it a non-priority. Or maybe you're just one of tens of thousands on the list, and so the odds are in your favor.

Or maybe God hates you and it happens to be you they watch over.


As per how long they will sit on a suspect- depends on A)the resources of the department B) how much they give a shit C) how long it takes to build a solid case.

im from germany and there have been several occasions where seed resellers and grow equipment vendors have been busted who kept lists of their customers. the police raided everyone from those customers, hundreds of households. some ppl got raided for ordering pots at the wrong shop.

i dont know about your laws but here they shit on personal rights. just one day ago there was another huge wave of home raids, they busted a chemical reseller that sold gamma-butyrolacton (GBL) which is a LEGAL chemical but its a precursor to GHB which is illegal. so the piggies twisted the laws as they saw fit and raided over 300 homes that were on the customer list in germany, switzerland and eastern europe. some cases were ppl who ordered 3 years ago!

I have never paid for anything grow related with anything other than cash. I see no reason to even leave a 1/1,000,000 chance that it might be seen by the wrong person...

I also try and make my trips to the shop during the weekend. There's normally less detectives on duty, thus leaving a lesser chance someone might be watching....

Going to growshops is pretty much my only concern nowadays..Recently heard stories of people being busted for that around here (not in the states). It's good that I don't have to go to them too often and could ask someone "clean" to do it for me if paranoia hits.

I peruse the mj bust reports through news.google.com fairly often and two things come up about 90% of the time.

1. Tips to police.
2. Investigations that last at least a couple weeks.

The police generally want to establish some sort of reasonable suspicion of illegal activity prior to approaching you without a warrant. They'll do it through street buys, surveillance for foot traffic, trash pulls, and quick scans of the property for the "signs" of a grow house. If there's nothing obvious then a knock-n-talk will take place as a last ditch effort. If that leads nowhere then it's pretty much a dead end for them and they'll move on to the next tip. Keep in mind this is for the "average grower". It may not apply to big ops or people suspected of being involved in other crimes.
