word....i will at the very least grow some terrariums with them and judge how they do at growing plants....i just really dont know what nm range they throw the light, but the pink ones have peaked my interest

I too have thought of this idea once i bought a set for my car. the output is impressive but i dont have any real numbers. but one pro i can think of is that you can choose the exact light spectrum you like and another is the low heat emission aspect. The downfall is total cost to setup - 79-120usd for the lights then the 12vdc adapter running at 35 - 55 watts depending on your choice of ballast. might be a little pricey when you can get a tried and true 400w hps or mh for 100 bucks -just my 0.02-
