Auto Hindu Kush - Harvest now or hang on?

Sorry if this seems a noobie question, just after harvest advice from anyone with experience of Auto Hindu Kush.

This one is grown indoors, in soil, in a pot, on a window sill in sunlight. See photo:

Pistils are:
70% White
30% Red

Trics are:
10% Clear
85% Milky
5% Amber

It is intended for medicinal purposes, ie heavy body stone, so the original intention was to wait until at least 50% amber trics. However all the fan leaves have turned yellow, many have dropped off. Most of the other leaves have turned yellow too. But the trics aren't really turning amber and there are still loads of white pistils.


Is it safe to leave the plant another week or so? (I suspect there'd be hardly any leaves left...)

After a lot of love it would be a shame to see it all go to waste now...

A quick dried sample produced an absolutely wonderful smoke, but definitely more towards the cerebral end rather than body stoned.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Hi mate

I would definitly wait another week atleast.
Your plant looks nice and healthy, if she's grown under good conditions there is no way the buds go to waste, even if all the leaves are dying, in my opinion... I have no experience with this strain whatsoever, but i've seen many plants turn entirely yellow before the harvest, you can wait for better advices but I don't think you'll get any problem

To get the effects you're looking for medicinally, go with the original plan and wait til trichs are 50/50 amber/cloudy. Fan leaves die all the time. Next the leaves near/in the buds will start to change. All of this is a ok.

i absolutely lov the smell of auto hindu kush, its very mild n stealth but when u touch it and smell your fingers its bliss. the stone is nice, nothing leathal butt nice. i had terrible germ rates though. i think they showed sex around 3 weeks.

Showed sex on day 23.
Plant above is on day 77 (looks like it will go to about day 85 for 50/50 milky amber/trics.)

claim 8 weeks to harvest, not sure if that is meant to be from germination or first flowering.
But please note the one above was grown on a windowsill and had at least 10 days with very poor light which probably slowed it down.

A really lovely little plant though!

(100% germ rate so far... ...but make sure ambient temp is at least 70degF.)

personaly i would let it go another 10 days. Many people harvest AFs to early let it go far and see what she does bro trust me you wont be disapointed. AFs ripen heavy in the last 2 weeks, but most people harvest before they see the true nature of it being ready.

I grew Auto Hindu Kush last year. Good strain and a very mellow body stone. I'd wait on the trics, it will be worth it. By the time mine was ready, at about 50% amber, all of the fan leaves and most of the secondary leaves had died and gone, leaving only the buds. That's not unusual for autos.
