Yea. Well, despite the Dr sh*tting on just about everything we do here: I've had more than a couple of DWC grows turn out excellent and they were heads and shoulders above my soil attempts. Just check my sig, two great DWCs. This one was a failure... and I think I figured out why. Besides starving them then overferting them which is bad enough, I believe my extra-ghetto taped-for-light-proofing pods had been worn down from normal use to the point there were alot of micro-holes and tears letting small amounts of light into the res.

I will be completely scrapping my current DWC pods setup and starting over with thick, light-proof plastic res's that won't need any tape or paint. Also, I'll be moving away from individual pods and going with 10 gallon reservoirs instead.

I've made a new res (holds 7 gallons). I've started 4 more pure jems. These four will be sitting right next to my soil girls in the the 150W cab. I've switched to Flora Nova Bloom /w Lucas. I've diluted it 1:1. Here is the nute schedule I'll be using.

The first week seedlings will be on 1tsp total for 7 gallons, then each week thereafter this schedule will apply:

2ml/gal for 7 gal = 14ml = 2.5tsp
4ml/gal for 7 gal= 28ml = 5.5tsp
6ml/gal for 7 gal= 42ml = 8.5
8ml/gal for 7 gal= 56ml = 11tsp (half strength)
10ml/gal for 7 gal= 70ml = 14tsp
12ml/gal for 7 gal= 84ml = 17tsp
14ml/gal for 7 gal= 98ml = 20tsp
16ml/gal for 7 gal= 112ml = 23tsp (full strength lucas bloom)

In order to simplify everything, I just kind of rounded off the ml total to a tsp value, to make it easy to just pour, dump and go. Wish me luck everyone, hopefully I'll be showing this snob what for.


(BTW, the 2 fems I had going didn't give up, and actually rebounded! I've been keeping them around for experiments, but everyday I let them live it makes it harder to kill them. Hearts like lions!)

those look like they are still in distress. is that soil you have them in?

No, they are one gallon DWC pods, and they still show residual damage, but believe me, they look much better than they did a week ago. I doubt I'll let them go to term, but it was nice having them around to test different things on.
