the less shade leaf the better ,
i noted the runs we did recently ,
the more shade leaf , the greener the higher bag results were ,

future runs will have no shade leaf at all , and be of much nicer quality ,
shade leaf always makes the results worse , its only good for mulch that stuff ...

we use large bubble bags though vh ,(i think they are 20 gallon bags) its only about 4 runs of 1.2 kg , not even a full days work really ,
we run all batches twice since a lot of stuff gets caught up in the material and needs to be run again to get it out...
Cobber, I should just shut up. I don't even know what bubble bags are. Where I come from we used to roll green leaf in newspaper then smoke it.

its just a hash making tool vh,
ice and water ,, cannabis of course , and different sizes of silk screen that grade trichomes as they pass through after being knocked off by the cold water/ice ,

the ideal ones are the mid range size bags , mostly 73 and 90 microns , with some decent ones also being found in the 45 micron bags , depending on strain and ripeness of the product used ,
in some cases i have found some nice melty hash in the 120 micron bags too ...

recently i have just kept the 45, 73 and 90 micron stuff , and the rest is for making hash cookies etc ,
i dont bother with the smallest, 25 micron bag ,, its too difficult to drain , and the quality of the hash is usually quite poor , it would also become cooking grade in my books ...

Ah. Now I see. Didn't know that's what the ice water did.

Down here with the Pigmies we don't use the trim for anything except maybe compost. But then we don't have kilos of it.

Thanks Stiff! I 'm interested in your reply. Very interested in Cultural stuff as you'll see if you read my posts. I come from two different cultures Scots and English with Irish thrown in there too. To some there's not much difference in the three. But a close look can find differences which all reflect history (in an anthropological sense).

Anyway that's quite a rave for this forum and I 'll shut up now before residual convict culture tries to dominate me. Oh, then there's that other mob from over the ditch ...

its only very high quality trim , aka sugar leaves that are suited to making decent hash, that and the popcorn buds , the ones that take too long to trim to make them worth throwing in the bag ,
most leaf is exactly as you say , just compost ....
my friend and his wife grow indoor , which has quite a high ratio of that sugar leaf , and they trim quite tight/well , so a lot of that is quite good for making hash ...

we used to just save the odd seeded buds , smaller buds and sugar leaf to make hash, it would take a lot of product to come up with enough material to do a bubble run..

In the olden days when leaf used to get sold, a mate made a fruit cake with about an ounce and a half of leaf, both shade and sugar leaves. The effect was intense, just like smoking buds if you had enough, and lasted a good 6 hours. There might not be as much THC in leaves but it's there if you take enough of it.

probably the best way to get something out of those i reckon chi ,
i agree some edibles of even stuff that didnt seem strong to smoke,
can really give some ooomph ...
the reason we take them out of the hash mix is not because they dont make any hash , because they do , but it lowers the quality of the rest of the hash is all ,
certainly good for cooking though ..
the 120 micron and 160 micron bags are great for making cookies etc with , while not that potent to toke , they can really rock a guy in edibles,
ive gotten uncomfortably high before like that , it was a stronger high than toking good bud ...

Yeah these days we would use bubble bags, but we had no idea what we were doing in 1982 ish. We weren't even sure we would get high from edibles. I remember being really surprised how good the effect was.

I use bubble bags for my leaf but like you I usually don't use anything over 90 for smoking.

Hey fellas, quite liking the new format around here. Seems much more intuitive and modern, at least to my millennial brain. Some inspiring hash talk here, making me want to get my bubble bags out for a run this weekend. Have a good couple jars (maybe 4-5oz) of little buds and some outdoor stuff I'd gotten tired of trimming, should be an interesting result with the mixture of strains going into it. Have some Afghan 90 x C99, White Russian x PCK, some gelato and a bunch of 'Chunky Balls' (A DC repro, apparently). Nice to know others don't use the 25 bag either, I've always found it a pain in the ass waiting for it to drain then cleaning it out.

Y'know ... She and I have been eating cookies made with heads for a few years. I heard THC stays in one's system for a long time and eventually is always present. So that a blood test on a chronic eater will return a positive even though s/he hasn't eaten for ages.
This could be true because She and I are down from a quarter of a bikky to a tiny, tiny portion and we get quite stoned for a long time.
Any other eating experiences out there?

(Of course our effects might be because we're growing from seed bred by a reputable breeder in far north queensland.)

Hey you fellas in FNQ ... gonna get your Wet a bit late, eh?

Might be more about tolerances vh ,
i dunno about it being a permanent thing ,
i would assume it dissipates in time just like anything ???

I do note showers for the next week , its barely even wetting the ground where i live though and im still watering , probably sux for the odd grower more towards the coast though ..
