Bingo! Put that place up as a HUD rental - Section 8 only. See how they like them apples. I'd cause all kinds of grief over it. I also noticed, there wasn't any black families around. I think a call to the NAACP is in order - looks like a Klan neighborhood to me, needs a little protesting going on.Verite said:They should quickly rent the thing out to a section 8 renter and watch the city wrestle with the feds when they cant kick them out.
is that how white people like it? for real?marx2k said:The property value argument is so old. People need to get some new shit to complain about.
The property value argument is the same bullshit that kept non-white people out of neighborhoods for over a century and is still keeping them out.
White people like to feel good about themselves by saying it's about property values, not intolerance. "OH! I love black people but unfortunately, one moving in next door will lower my property value so we need to keep them OUT of this neighborhood."
And then you have "white flight".
And this shit lives to this day. A few years back when my mother worked freelance for a real estate company showing homes, the real estate manager made sure to drill her on people who called and sounded black/had a black name. She was to tell them there were no properties available for rent. This still goes on to this day. And this was in Brooklyn, NY by the way. Not like Whitesville, Oklahoma.

The Anchorman said:Instead of educating themselves about this lady's plight and showing a little compassion, and maybe helping a fellow human out, it's just much easier to have the problem removed.
Amen!!! You can say that again.Tinkerbell said:The longer I live...... people get dumber by the day....by the second I should say....
i am white, and do not share this opinion,,,,my property value goes up when anyone moves in. i chose the proper area, not the proper hue.marx2k said:Yes. Yes it is. White working and upper class people like to be surrounded by white people. It's absurd, but when lots of white people see a black person strolling through their neighborhood.. they really do get anxiety about crime, property values, their children, etc.
Thats the main problem with most societies today. Compassion is totally lost with people. It's easier to get the fuckers OUT of the neighborhood than to actually deal with the underlying issue of racism in themselves and their neighbors.
hold the presses.marx2k said:Thats the main problem with most societies today.
Really? Geez, and here I live in a racially mixed working class neighborhood with property values still soaring (albeit out of control....) Granted, we've got a problem with gangbangers trying to make their mark here, and the neighborhood park's become overrun with drug dealers since the gang problem popped up a few years go, the neighborhood doesn't give a shit what color you are, you just damn well better be a respecting, quiet neighbor.marx2k said:Yes.
