Arjans Haze, Amnesia Haze, or Love Potion ??

Also, I've read a lot of other threads where people complain that they were unable to obtain a pheno of LP#1 that had anything close to a lemon scent/flavor. So you're point about having to do some searching is also well taken and another reason to consider the AMNH. Plus, I hear so much back and forth about Arjan. Some say "best breeders in upcoming Sat comback trend"...and so much exposure at recent cups (every single person from the company is plastered with shirts advertising them just look at recent HT publications, you'll see lots of pics of 'em)... and this consistant dressing (T-shirts) make's em look professional, tight, and organized, but looks can be deceiving sometimes. And I head the cups are basically up for sale to a large extent. Anough cash, the right connections ("friends"), and you'll bag an award one way or another. So winning cups doesn't necessarily mean a Gdam thing in some cases. Lot's of good word about Shanti's SSH... but I was hoping to lean towards something with a more unique/amazing smell/taste... old school but major trichome in the same package... the kind of thing that makes people say one (or both) of two things:
1. WOW.. I've never tasted anything like this before... it's SOOOO good!!
and/or
2. I haven't tasted anything like this in 10-20 years... brings back great memories.
A lot of these old school sats don't impress people based upon a visual inspection... again I don't really care about that, but do (an mentioned previously) I enjoy looking at my meds and drooling during free time/cool down sessions in the evening... crystal laden is always a fun part of that viewing pleasure, ya know?
If it brings that kind of reaction, I know it will be the kind of medicine I'm wishing I had. As for actually pleasing others, I couldn't care less because it's not for them anyhow lol.

definately not... it's one of those kinds of pot that doesn't look like anything special, but then blows your head off after a bong hit or two...

and it wasn't the hawaiian snow that was dusted... it was the Big Bang (i think). i smoked some of that stuff a couple weeks after the cup it was entered in ('02 or maybe '03) and was wondering 'what the fuck is so great about this stuff', it was mediocre at best.

but i've tried several samples of AH #1, #2, #2 Ultra, and #1 Ultra.... they've all been intensely potent.

yeah.... and I'll bet they LOOKED potent, too - unlike some of these others that (as you mentioned) don't really grab anyone's attention upon first (or even second) glance... it ends up all being in the bonghit. Judging from everything else I've seem from Soma (and some pics in mags of AH as well) I'll bet that the average pheno will result in "coated with triches" sticky nuggets.

also, while he doesn't have the original parents to stuff like Super Silver Haze they must be doing something right over there because 2005 GH SSH did really well in the dutch High Life cup. namely it got top honors... so while it's not the same, that doesn't mean it's not good.

Note what I mentioned in a previous post regarding the politics of those cups... they're often won because of anything BUT the actual quality of the smoke. Not ALWAYS.. but there's funky shit going on at those contests. When a big company takes a win, it's worth doing some investigation before you run right out and grab the beans simply because a cup was taken. Unfortunately, the average connisiour isn't aware of that crap. They know they want the best stash they can get their hands on, and many are willing to go the extra mile (30-60 additional days flowering time)... but they don't know that this new strain they've GOT to have only won because Harry put in a good word with Frank and Parry (the breeder) shared 2 elite clones with John (who's judging) during a long enjoyable evening where many exquisite/mind blowing spliffs were passed around generously.
That's just a generic example of how/why the cups results shouldn't always be trusted... but the bottom line is that is all comes down to who's friends with who - those relationships cause a lot of things to happen behind the scenes that knowbody ever talks about (they don't talk about it becase everyone's getting happy goodies and they like the system just as it is... a major change would change a select few people's lives in a major negative way. It's no different than lobbyists in government or major companies who do big time shit in an effort to get "their" candidate elected. Exact same corrupt "who knows who" kind of bullshit.

Am I saying that EVERY single cup goes that way? No.. but a lot of them do. I think you're more likely to find a truely amazing "gem bean/strain" by paying attention to the honorable mentions. Those are the guys who couldn't/didn't choose to play the game, but their gear was so damned good that it just had to be mentioned or people would be saying "how the hell did "J-jimmy pearlskunk" not win ANYTHING? (just a hypothetical name for example purposes)....

sounds like Amnesia is your best bet of these choices... although i wouldn't overlook SSH too quick as it's probobly the best tasting haze hybrid i've ever smoked. although anything with 50% haze content is going to taste pretty similar.

it's also got some of the best trichome coverage of the haze hybrids. but amnesia also has great trich coverage. a bit more mellow earthy taste to it. while SSH has an exotic citrusy/fruity taste/smell to it. but Soma did well with Amnesia and it doesn't dissapoint.

Hi everyones . The Potion( from RMS.) I,m growing it at the moment along whit Arjan's Haze *2 (from Greenhouse Seeds ) Both are first timer in my garden . I'm used to Greenhouse Sativa's both fews packs of new feminized line . Includng A.H.*2, The Doctor . 2 new strains from Greenhouse for me I'm familiar whit the rest of is Sativa's i grow for looong times ! and The Potion sure is quality that even Arjan's cant denied . As goes for the Potion Mr. Bacchus note the easy of grow and yields . I agreed so far but will ad tremendous vigors. I roots a cutting in less than 72hrs wow ! Arjan's Haze *2 dont like nutes as the Potion ... Actually all the RMS i grow 4 in total are nutes needing plants . Specialy for organic grow as mine or yours ? So my called is for a Sativa lover as myself they both have a place in my medicinal garden . |Peace all. Rodia!
