Are the Dragons Described in Ancient Tales Dinosaurs?

I love the part about carbon 14 dating of dragon bones. I have 2 degrees as an anthropologist and archaeologist and I have never heard of "dragon" bones ever being excavated.

I heard about it once in Amsterdam but vowed never to be fooled again.

It's possible that some europeans travelled far enough to see a crocodile. That would be pretty scary to someone who did not know of there existance. Hell, they can be pretty scary anyway. Tales grow with the retelling and flying and breathing fire took only a short stretch of the imagination.
