Hi Nortex; The way your cab is set up, you are only pulling about 1/4th of the airflow through the carbon filter, or less. Air flows through the least resistant path, in your case through the light instead of the carbon filter.

I found a 6" axial fan that has good enough static pressure to pull through a carbon filter. It is 3500 rpm though, so it might be noisy. Its pulls 65 cfm at 0.5" of static pressure and 100 cfm at 0.35 st. pres. Its only $20 + shipping.

Thanks bro...i'll definitely take a look at it. I've went up into the attic and there wasn't any smell whatsoever, so i assumed it was working as well as i needed it to with it being a DIY closet with things i had laying around from previous grows. Thanks for the tip, and the link.

yeah i had just got finished trimming the living shit out of a bunch a fan leaves and i raised the light to get my head under there

yes it will cool your lights, I use a couple different boosters, I use a green 10inch hydrofarm reduced to 6inchs to cool some cooltubes, 84watts, $70 bucks, i like it over a 6in vortex anyday.

your situation you can use the 8in, $56 bucks and i think 60ws
