Calm before the storm. Spent a day and a half staking these crazy monstah Tirah hashplants! Once I got up on the ladder I caught my last remaining unknown gender plant ready to dump pollen - balls everywhere up at the tippy top yet nothing even as high as ten feet up. 14 feet and counting, yikes! Gonna be learning a lot about making hash this winter lol

Note to self - next time you grow this strain, plant ‘em 8 feet apart, not 4! Could barely move between the rows and moving the ladder was a major challenge.

p59teitel aka PT … :groupwave:I should expect no less from you! Close down the hatches, storms a coming

Removing leaves & minor bud sites. Usually I don't lollipop but THE SPIDER MITES ! ! !

Got the tools for doing a Safer dunk on each branch. Wonder if I'll be using it.

Left to Right

Hey everyone, hope you’re all well.
How awful Great Outdoors but l do know exactly how you feel. l’m wishing for a successful salvage operation for you.

Just thought I’d throw in a few photos of the winter selection. These plants are well past point of wilt and about to be watered but only because I’m going away for a couple of weeks otherwise I’d push them a bit further. Three have not wilted at all while all the rest have started to cannibalise their lower leaves for water. I want to see how they bounce back but I’ll probably cull the lot that haven’t passed the first drought tolerance test, so we’re down to three; a ratio of one to eleven.
The one we were keeping an eye on hasn’t made it but two out of the three have got an intense, mother leaning, stem rub and one of these is starting to purple.
Cheers,
40.

I would leave it broken and laying there. I bet in a couple days all the fan leaves will re orientate themselves to the sun and will continue growing. Good luck Great Outdoors

Or you could get nuts on it with a big roll of duct tape and some kind of large wooden splint

Golden cobra down for the count.
Worst part is I am out of town and trying to get the wife to deal with it 😭

Ouch. Stake it up. It'll live. Tape will help. Even duct tape. But I imagine tree patch would be best.

Not as bad as yours, but one of mine split because I topped it by accident out in the field. It still produced.

Sorry to see that a little repair might get that going again. it is amazing how they can recover. My out door ended with what i kinda thought would happen, snipped way to early and it was CBD lol lol hope they enjoy. I don't like like losing meds but that i have a bit of supply...:)

Great outdoors, My heart goes out to you, but like star crash says, and as I'm sure that your no doubt aware, some good strong tape and perhaps some supports as well and come harvest you'll hardy notice the difference.

Well, I seeded my entire crop somehow. Must have had a male too close for too long before it was moved or culled. Thought they were isolated and far away enough, also thought I got them far far away (15 km+) before they released pollen.

Gonna be a fun 2022 smoking tiny little green pips. The August/September finishers have very small immature seeds but I'm wondering if the October finishers will have big ripe brown seeds or if it will be the same story. I guess you have to let plants go a little longer to get mature seeds? So likely it will just be too annoying to even pick them out and I'll just have to smoke them and taste/potency will obviously suffer.

Was going to let a couple of plants get pollinated purposefully on other people's property with their permission to save some money on seeds next year but I guess I learned the hard way making a noob mistake.

I've never done this before in my 6 seasons or so of outdoor growing so I'm pretty disappointed and angry at myself.

Looks like I'm not the only one having some hard times though.

Thanks everyone for the ideas and condolences. I have seen many crashes of plants over the years. In the old days of guerilla and big numbers I have seen plants survive some crazy stuff. Sometimes full lay downs that you never could repair, and they still produced. Other times as simple as propping branches/ plants with sticks and they would heal. Sometimes though, especially with a base snap, there is sadly no recovery. And this is one of those times.
I already knew this plant was a potential problem. It just grew way too big. I started my seeds two weeks later than last year, which were some of my biggest plants ever, and this thing was 50% bigger than the largest plant same time last year. It was 12ft tall and had a diameter of 8 to 10ft. There was I figure close to 100lbs of plant material there. My caging/ staking was insufficient, it was a dry summer with no storms to harden the plant prior to the couple days of monsoon weather we had.
But the big kicker why I figure this plant is done is fusarium. I detected a mild case on this plant in July. After vigorous organic treatment I thought I had truly kicked it. Plant looked super healthy, grew vigorously with no more symptoms. Well my wife tells me there is a big black patch inside the stalk. Bingo, but not in a good way.
Lots of material was hacked off and it was repaired but I don't have high hopes she will make it.
Yesterday after repair.
