Wouldn't it be better to just attack the real problem which is high humidity?

My humidity is in the 30's and I'm still getting powdery mildew. Humidity itself is not the answer to powdery mildew.

i can say so far the mildew has been stopped but i fear so have my plants been burned by the probably over used burner !
i posted a thread about burned leaves on my plants previously as i thought it was heat stress but i have been thinking and researching and it looks like i have over used the burner and done some damage to the fan leaves .
on a good note though it looks to have seriously quietened down the fungal gnats , i wont go so far as to say stopped but i havent seen one for a while now .

i have just retrieved the burner from my cellar , which previously i dare not grow in as i had a fungal problem with germinating seeds down there .
i left it down there for about 24 hours and really gassed the place out .
i am going to try and move my mother plants down there tomorrow and hope the sulfur has nuked all the moulds .

brastaman, how does sulfur delay the harvest in your experience?

i noticed the trichromes taking longer to change clear to amber. this occurred when certain strains were exposed to excessive sulfur burning.

only time I had flakes was first time, when I left it on for a few days in between grows.

generally some lousy advice here - lowering RH is NOT the best answer to PM etc., you can still get it, had mine down to 35-40% still got PM; and 15 mins ain't going to do shit - a sulfur burner takes longer to warm up! and I never turn fans off - don't see what difference it makes - I have 4 fans full on 24/7. I burn S twice a week 4-5 hours. Once did 6 hrs. Never had a problem with the burner or budrot or PM since. I think mine was a sulfume - burns at 190 instead of 145. Only thing is burning 6 hours fucks with my CO2 controller and it has to be reset. (I think that's cos 190 is close to 195 when SO2 starts to be given off.)

This is great for a sealed room. If one has a ventilated room or cab it only makes sense to turn the vent fans off.

The amount of time one runs the sulfur burner depends a lot on the size of the room or cab. Having used a sulfur burner before, I'm well aware of how long it takes to warm up, which why I said to start timing AFTER the sulfur starts to vaporize. Considering the damage sulfur can do to plants, starting conservatively is probably a good idea for someone who has never used one before.

I will agree with you about the RH though. I get PM even when the humidity is in the 30's.

nice post coolx , thanks
and your right about the working burn times up gradually pc , i did mine for fifteen mins as recomended and it did nothing , so i left it on for a lot longer and burned my leaves !
learning curve :bashhead: , bit i didnt think it would burn like it did , my fault for lack of research really but there is very little advice i could find on the net
