hello people can anyone advise me on a little problem i have with my sulfur burner sorry actually sulfur vapourizer .
my problem is when the thing is on it vapourizes fine but the vapour just solidifies on the nearest colder surface and forms little sulfur flakes that get blown all over the place by my fans :cuss:
my room gets a mess and the sulfur gets everywhere , in my res ,on my plants , all over the lights and stuck to my carbon filter . i thought the vapour coated the surfaces not the little flakes :nono:

is this normal when using a sulfur burner ?

thanks skin

thats normal. turn off all ventalation when burning and before turning ventalation back on clear out burner or it should harden up to a solid chunk. if it flakes still after burning then it aint getting hot enough, so just lower the burner closer to the element or turn the sucka up higher heat. no fans or anything should run while burning

that makes sense really :bashhead:
just that no one who has spoken to me about these burners said anything about turning fans etc off , i thought the oscilating fans would help spead the sulfur vapour about but instead it just spread the flakes .
so best plan would be to put the burner out of the way in the corner or somewhere with something under to catch the flakes ?
thank you for your advice word , it is much appreciated

one more thing , should the sulfur all burn away or do i empty and refil every so often ?
it is about 99% pure so i thought it should really burn to nothing ?

I never get flakes with my sulfur burner???

Put a couple tablespoons of the sulfur pellets in your pan. Hang the burner up high somewhere near the center of the growroom/cabinet. With the ventilation off, turn the burner on for however long you want. If you leave it on too long, it can damage your plants. You might want to start with about 15 minutes (from when it starts vaporizing), see if you get the desired results and, if not, go a little longer the next time. Pay close attention to your new growth; it is affected the most by the sulfur.

The sulfur can cool in the pan and be re-used. At some point it seems like it doesn't put out as much vapor and that's when I replace it.

Perhaps the issue is not the sulphur---but rather the quality of the one that preses the issue.

i have used burner's before but i keep the fans off. the sulfur can burn the tips of the new growth and bud sites. sets back the harvest date, seen.
i don't understand. the sulfur moves in the container as its burned and touches a
?cold? part of the burner/container?
make sure the burner is hanging straight up and down. make sure the heating element/pad is flat and yer sulfur container is level/even on the element/pad.
burrrn baby burn :hotbounce

forty grit. lmao.

thanks brastaman , the delayed harvest and burning dont sound good !
the bit you dont understand - the burner is hung up by a wire handle , when it is on the sulfur vapourises and rises , touches the handle , chain, ceiling whatever is above and solidifies .
and i have a sulfume burner , the heating element is very near the bottom and is made to hang up , i was thinking about standing it on something so there was nothing above .

there isnt a damned book to read and i thought this place was for help and advice ?

maybe don't put as much sulfur in next time. you know, do it in steps. burn a little now, wait and burn a little more.

good luck.

i would be alot better to controll the humidity waffle but i am having some real problems getting a dehunidifier where i am !!!!!!!!!
i had to order one internationally , but due to lots of factors it arrived severely damaged (long story )
so in the mean time i have had to try something else to keep my powdery mildew and mould problems under controll !
unlike lots of growers i am not in a position to choose gadgets and equipment at will from the local grow or electrical shop and due to climate i cannot just turn the extraction up as it is far to cold outside .
i have been growing for a few years now but have fairly recently moved to a not so developed or grow friendly country and the slightest thing can and has become a major problem , so it is like i am a noob all over again !

Best thing is to turn off all fans when burning. then burn turn back on when done and dump the sulfur waste in a used cup that will be garbage when your done. the vapors will creep all over everything after a couple of hours burn.

Well good luck dude i had my fair share of that powdery mold bud rot crap and i am lucky enough that i'll be able to pick up a dehumidifier at my local Lowes or Home Depot. Good luck on your battle dude. And btw this is the first time i've even read about a sulfer burner being use hope your get awesome results with it once its dialed in.
