Anyone use manual film cameras, still?

Oh man I love my film cameras.
I started with a minolta SRT-101 with a busted light meter. I learned to judge the scene after a few test rolls, and was able to figure out how to trick the light meter for the new battery voltage.
I upgrade to a canon T-90. for those of you who dont know, the T90 was a revolution. all camera designs since the T90 are based on its set up, thumb wheel, grip, finger buttons, etc. Yeah its a beast, and its manual focus only, but it kicks ass. The spot meter is amazing and allow you to meter multiple part of the frame, which are then averaged for highlight and shadow. You can adjust the exposure to 1/3 stops.
I picked up the FD 35-105 constant 3.5 two touch zoom lense. It is such a badass piece of glass, solid as a rock. the 72mm lense makes sun spots hard to deal with, but its worth it.

Anyone ever play with double exposures? its really fun. I take self portraits of myself, shaking my own hand using long exposures in black and white. it looks really weird.

all i want is a grow room, and a dark room.

peace

Yeah , double exposures used to be my thing. I did a seires using double exposures of cranes from construction sites to make them look like monsters in natural settings.

I've been thinking about getting a pinhole attachment for the leica also. Anyone done any cool pinhole camera projects?

sorry for bumping an old thread but i just want to show some pics of the pinhole camera i made from a grenade box as a first year project at college. it has a tripod mount, interchangeble pinholes and accepts 4x5 sheet film:

for quality i wouldn't recomend the pinhole attachment for a 35mm camera. make one yourself that takes 4x5 negs or larger.

i still shoot on film if i need b/w images, but i don't print my own anymore, i have them scanned. of all the cameras i've had, i like the olympus OM1 the most, second comes the bronica 6x4.5 medium format. i got an M42 screw mount adapter from a japanese guy for my sigma SD10 digital so i can use my old pentax lenses with extension tubes and bellows unit, good macro's.

heh...

do u have a screen on the camera to check your picture is ok?
can u take as many photos?
can you print them off instantly with no developing?
can you record a video ?

digitals are so very user friendly and do just about everything you could want from a camera and some of them (like our two) take amazing photos, far better than film cameras.

don't get me wrong smokey, i shoot mostly on digital for those reasons but i don't think that digital has caught up with film completely. what about the noise you get with long digital exposures? film absolutely loves the low-light conditions like when you're painting the scene with light. and what about exposure latitude in b/w photography?

I shoot film still. I have a darkroom in my house even. I have the Mamiya RB67, minolta autocord, and I used to shoot a lot with a canon eos 1v but that was stolen.

I have digital as well because it is easier for a lot of things.

I never wwill stop to use my good old Canon EOS 300.

And all the Leikas.

I´m gonna get my hands on a digicam now, but just for fun and for practical reasons.

But to produce photo art, go the traditional way!

i just got a Canon XTi. ya know, it is a great camera that takes great pictures. however if i were faced with the perfect shot, I would take my Canon T90 any day.IMO digital black and white looks like shit. no feel, no depth, no character, no silver tones....
film will not die.
