Anyone taken a vacation to jamaica?

Whats up guys, haven't posted much the past couple weeks cause of a new job and just been busy. Anyway, I had a friend telling me about him and his gf's trip to jamaica and how good of a time they had. Pretty much said bud is cheap as hell around the area and all you smell is pot burning once you get down there, lol. I'd been looking at somewhere good to go on vacation thats affordable and preferably where smoke is easy to get ahold of since its not much of a vacation without some herb. My friend told me it was like $1800 for the two of them to fly down and back, 4 night stay in a resort right on the beach, and all meals covered. Just need money for booze and spending. I've never seen the ocean before and figure a jamaican beech with a blunt in my hand would be a nice way to see it for the first time. Anyway, was wondering if anyone else had been to jamaica and if they could give some opinions on how good of a vacation spot it is : )~

You probably want to stick around the more 'touristy' beaches in Negril....the bud flows free, it's cheap, it's good (if your picky) and it's much safer than actually going into any cities or towns. I have been twice and I would wholeheartedly recommend staying in Negril at a nice quiet place called 'The Beachcomber'.....spend a few days walking the beach. Stop to eat at restaurants along the ocean when you feel like it, enjoy many a nice fat spliff, and just chill.....

I go there at least once a year. I go to Negril and stay at Blue Cave castle. There is smoke everywhere in Negril . You can smoke in cabs as long as you ask, can smoke in resturants or on the beach. Just ned to ask if its ok to the owner or a worker. Dont want to blaze up if they dont alllow it, disrespectful. Smoke is cheap and can get all different kinds. From crappy brown weed to freshly grown sativas. Depends on where you look and your ability to haggle.

The people are nice . alot will try to selll you wood carvings or aloe but just say no thank you and they will go away. Airfare is pretty cheap if you book in advance. I suggest not going all inclusive. I did the first time there and it was ok. lots of drinks and food. but you dont get the real Jamaica experiance. You need to go to local places to eat and talk. At the place i stay you can get the penthouse ( and it is truly a penthouse with breathtaking vview on cliffs of ocean) for less than $70 a night. They brew blue mountan coffee each morning for everyone. Its a great time.

I would go to Jamaica over A'dam anyday. Weed is just as plentiful plus you have great weather and a beach in jamaica

went to ocho rios, jamaicans are super pushy. my girlfriend had one woman try to put a shirt on her and charge money because she wore it. ii scored great bud on my first try. i over paid a lil bit, but i was so happy to have real bud(not cozumel shit mexibrick) that i didnt care. im planning on going back next spring, we should have a g2g in negril.lordhavemercy!

Ocho Rios sucks!!! I went there one time and left within 5 minutes. Its a place where cruise ships port so all tourists with 30 minutes to shop sto there so its a tourist trap!! People in Ocho are very pushy. Mo bay is pretty touristy as well. Go to negril and stay on the west end. Negril was formed by hippies as a hippie community so alot of laid back folks there.

Montego Bays real touristy.. I remember we went to a tourist place called taj mahal i think.. theres was this rasta - one man band that sounded great.. everyone else shopped, and i stood there and watched this dude play for like an hour..

Negril rocks

I have to say that I never smoked anything that great, but I know its there.. I was gifted some really nice herb for free, and a few times we bought some decent stuff.... I did buy a bag of straight up "tourist garbage" when we first arrived.. we gave it away

If I plan to go on vacantion again it will be at Jamaican AGAIN for sure... and I'm glad you said that Negril is a nice place... I'll keep that name in my mind! This winter when I got there Me and my father were walking near some market (there like 20 market and they sell the same damn thing in each of them.) and a guy approched us and asked if we wanted some drug. No my father reply... 30sec later I turned back and I saw him give some rolling paper to another man that I guess just bought something from him... lol!

My cousin that were on the cruise with us took a cab and asked the driver to lead them to some nice people with weed... the driver bring them to something that she called a "rasta camp"... lolll they bought some nice fucking herb for $50 a 7 and smoked 2-3 fat joint with one rasta...They seemed to have a fucking nice day! I was thinking weed was cheaper than that over there?

Yes, having stay at ocho, Negril and Mo bay. I can say Negril wins hands down if you want to see the real Jamaica and have a nice relaxing time. Mo bay and Ocho you get hounded too much to buy things.Negril is a 70-90 minutes drive to get to so its a bit away from the tourist trap areas. While they are sandals and other All inclusives in Negril most are on the east end. The west end is more laid back with locals and smaller places to stay at. Smaller places are better to stay at. Sandals is a joke unless you are there to get married. If you are there to smoke, relax and see the country stay on the west end.

The smoke varies in quality. Never buy herb at the airport. Its never good, its like cheap brick weed basically. Its ok to buy a little to smoke on the way to your resort but dont buy alot. You'll find better att he place you go. Haggle with herb salesmen. If it dont look like something you want , just say no. I got close to two ounces of a sativa for around $100 and it was a great smoke. But i looked around for it and had to turn alot of shit down before i got good herb.

Negril is a blast and I will be there again in less than 6 months. Jamaica is a place i need to go each year just to clear my head

I wanna 2nd going the non-inclusive route. Usually the all-inclusive places have a set menu for those deals of drinks and certain entrees you are pigeonholed into...you are much better off freelancing up and down the beach, trying a few new places every night.

You can actually see the progression on the Negril beach from the touristy areas to the more funky, cheaper places at the west end. The bigger places like Sandals are set much farther back from the ocean, and looking to the east it seems barren and deserted most times. Looking to the west, the smaller resorts creep in towards the shoreline and it is generally much more 'alive' feeling than the east end.

I mean... while I was at ocho rios... a guy from a German cruise got a gun on his temple by a Jamaican who asked him all his money and his passport... I don't know if it's true... but my cousin and bf heard this on their way back to the ship... :S I don't know if going in non-touristict area is a synonym of a more dangerous place...?

And do Negril have a airport? Or you need to land near this place and take a bus or cab?

Jamaica is a poor country. Due to that and respect i dont flash signs of " wealth" to them. If you were poor and some fat lazy guy walked by with $$ hanging out of his pocket and a just landed t shirt chances are something may happen. jamiaca is dangerous, but just in spots. Kingston is dangerous but Negril isnt. Same as USA, some places in DC you just dont go to and if you do , hide your watch . I have never experianced crime in Jamaica but i go there alot so i know people there and they know me. They know i will buy shit from them and give them $$ when i leave to help them out so why rob me. As long as you are nice and understand that you are in theri country and give the people respect , the same will be given to you. I wear jewelery ( 1ct diamond in each ear and a $2000 watch) but i leave it at home so not to tempt people.


Negril doesnt have an airport. You land in Sangster airport in MObay. Kingston has an airport as well but its a 3 hour drive to negril from there. Its 70-90 minutes from airport to Negril. Some resorts have shuttles to take you to resort. Or you can get a cab or bus there. Just make sure you haggle the price and price is established before you get in the cab.

Nice, all this talk makes me want to go even more. Definately have to look into Negril. Probably be a year or so before I actually get down there, but I wanna get plans on going. I'd definately prefer the layed back, smoke a joint and relax environment rather than some hopping area with souveniers everywhere you look.
