My pops had a Diesel cutlass wagon, you know the kind you see all over Tijuana for Taxis. Good times, especially when you got to sit in the back seat...Turned around facing the rear of the car, messing with other drivers. It was fun, don't think I could drive one now except for maybe a subaru wagon.

I started to say the factory made station wagons. While looking for proof I discovered the conversion kit. GTO station wagons did come from the dealer. I'm not sure where the conversion kit was added.

Too fukn cool gomer ,
That thing came w/ rallyes , buckets , console etc..It didn't / wouldn't fall in sequence w/ a true GTO VIN number - but here near Detroit , if you knew the right ppl. and checked the right boxes you could get almost anything you wanted . That window sticker was from Ace Wilsons Royal Pontiac in Royal Oak Michigan / AKA Jim Fressard Pontiac - Now No Pontiac  I knew an older guy w/ a 1965 pontiac wagon-389 tripower , 4 spd and all the GTO goodies , and it was bought new equiped that way.
Keep it real man .

Yeah! I remember sitting in the back with my brother whenever we went anywhere, I loved watching cars out that back window.

Wish the wagons I had would have been from the 60s-70s, but sadly they were from the late 80s early 90s.

My first wagon was the parents 92 Ford Taurus Wagon, dad bought it new off the lot in 92 and drove it till I turned 16 (2002). Dad sold it too me on my 16th birthday for $300. Worst $300 I ever spent, power steering didn't work anymore, tires were almost bald, interior was wrecked from 10 years of work and hauling 3 kids around, tranny slipped, the engine used/leaked about 2 quarts a day, and to put insult to injury the whole engine compartment caught fire while driving and when I was able to park the whole wagon went out in a blaze of glory less than a month after getting it. Looked like this only rusty and purple like a plum:

Then after that I picked up an 1989 Honda Civic Wagon, if you haven't seen one it might be the ugliest wagon I have ever seen. That thing had so many problems I won't even start to write them. But, with all of its problems it got me from A to B for the next two years until college. Biggest problem with it was the small engine, took forever to get up to speed, had to make a deal with god anytime I had to merge onto the highway. Looked like this:

back in the 70s/80s I used to run the flea market circuit back in
NY and my favorite vehicles were these american station wagons.
this was the fleet of wagons I ran over the years, I kept 2 or 3 on
the road at any time to accommodate use by other family members
wanting to do flea markets once they knew the good $$$ in it.......

This was my all time fav wagon for obvious reasons, I even
made the newspapers with my ambulance/police chase DWI.
'69 Cadillac, mine had the 'Miller' ambulance conversion.

I could really fill this car with goods it was huge in there.......

too bad the pic was taken against a shitty background, and it looks
like the Impala body style but could be another model idk for sure.

We had a 70 Malibu Station wagon growing up. Tons of room and a fat V8. Sure wish I had it now.

I still rock the wagon. I have a '91 Mercedes Benz 300TE 4-matic. I wrench on Benz's for a living and picked one up cheap to re-sell. Ended up falling in love with the damn things. They have a ton of room to haul gear. When people see my gold dredge on the river most won't believe that it all fits in the wagon. They also handle amazingly. I had a co-worker that was a dealer tech in the early 90's and was privelaged to get to take all of the new models out for a track day. The 4-matic wagons were consistently the 2nd fastest on the track behind the 190e 16V. Not b/c of power (185 stock) but b/c they have tremendous grip on the road with the automaticly engaging 4wd.

The 190e 16v is on of my favorite cars.
Those MB wagons, very nice. I am fan of the BMW e30 wagons also.
Even some Swedish wagon loving?
