the lowryder#2 cross.
in the first 2 pics you can see the pollination has taken and seed production is in full force. pollen used: various forced hermie non autos.
the last pic is of a sativa pheno lowryder#2 cross.

diesel ryder cross.
Bud formation is loose and airy but smell is strong with high resin production.

well they aren't auto's but they sure are flowering earlier than the original non auto strain. I'd say by a month.

first 2 pics are of the heavy sativa dominant lowryder#2 cross

last 2 pics are of the pollinated lowryder#2 crosses.

thanks man, I am pleased with the results thus far and would for sure recommend trying this to anyone who wishes to create an earlier finisher. I gotta say one of the best parts about these crosses were that they all showed sex very early in their life(within a month from seed). good luck ganjagardnr.

nice little thread here, interesting on the earlier flowering on the semi-auto(?) offspring
i wonder if this has been a common breeder technique to produce shorter flower times
haven't touched autos yet, but this does sound interesting

That's funny, seems like the f1s DO have auto traits... I didn't know that, now I want to try crossing my favourite autos with killer strains and see the results... Damn I wish I did that this summer :D

I believe it depends on what you cross the af-strain with. Some of early outdoor strains have very strong af-tendency, even that they arre considered 12/12 strain. It's not black and white... ;)

i am pretty sure the father plant used for the crosses mostly had nepali grizzly and hash plant genetics. which were both early strains(late sept - early oct harvest) I am sad to say I did not inbreed these plants to try and make my own auto's. But I do have a bunch of seeds left over from the lowryder#2 cross which i can inbreed some other time. For now the seeds I decided to make are going to be all fem's which will have some lowryder#2 genes in them.

Well the earliest lowryder#2 came down about a week ago(1 ounce dry) and the ones with seeds still have a week left to ensure all seeds are mature. The diesel cross is starting to ripen and will be ready soon. I've lost a few cola's to bud rot because of the amount of rain mixed with high humidity the last 2 weeks. fackin bud rot, stressful shiat.
1st pic = dry lowryder#2 cross
2nd pic = diesel ryder cross.

Final Update

Final Update

Well everything is done and completed now and am pleased with the results. To sum it up, the crosses showed sex very early on but did not auto-flower(all were sexed within the first month). It was kinda strange, seeing them it was almost as if they wanted to flower but the non-auto traits said ''NO wait a bit''. Around 20-30 percent began to flower early july and finished by sept. The rest started flowering mid- july and finished early to mid sept. I also noticed there was hybrid vigor in these crosses allowing the plants to get big fast before flowering. I didn't save any males so I wasn't able to inbreed them which kinda sucks because now i wish i did. Instead I back-crossed them to the non-auto genetics( forced female pollen using cs). I was surprised at number of female seeds that were actually produced and looking forward to testing them for next season. If all went well I probly won't be growing a male for a long ass time.
Now for the budz, the dry diesel cross tastes and smells amazing, breaking up the bud kinda smells like a sour grape candy or something along those lines. Very crystally, loose light budz. Smoking a joint tastes like a blunt and is very strong causing mad coughing about halfway through it.
The high is very uplifting and will make you not wanna sleep. The buzz lasts a good 2 hours and then you wanna smoke more.
Now the lowryder2 cross, definately lacking aroma compared to the diesel cross, the smell is sweet and earthy. The budz are tight and heavy. The taste is nothing special and the buzz is uplifting and celebratal.
Now here's some random pics.
