Anyone Know What I Should Expect From An Auto Crossed With A Non-Auto????

Last year I grew a few diesel-ryders along with a bunch of Lowryder#2's, well I ended up pollinating them all with a male land-race strain which is a late september finisher. I ended up getting a few hundred seeds and was wondering if anyone would have a good idea as of what to expect with these seeds.

I think the landrace will be domonant in the f1's but none of them should auto flower. but if you inbreed your f1's you will see roughly 25% of them auto..... threre is a good thread on here about breeding non auto to auto

i think the term i've heard around here is "semi-auto flowering"... so you'll have traits from both in first generation or so :joint:

but i'm no expert, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt :joint:

edit: dargo beat me to it, his sounds better than mine lol

well thanks for the quick responses. I will have to look for this thread u talk of. My initial thought was some would be auto some non auto and the rest semi auto.

0% AF in 1st generation unfortunately.
You will see the autos popup in the next generation of inbreeding.
If you are in a hurry you can backcross to the AF and get to autoflowering faster, but you will lose much of the genes you were trying to get into the line to begin with.

IceColdCrickets has an excellent thread on how to turn ur elite cut into an AF.
Quite detailed, check it out.

:thank you: . what about smell traits, the diesel ryder was stinky as hell but the landrace has little to no smell. maybe the stanky trait of the diesel will have made its way into the offspring. Looking thru some older pics i found one of the dad and a couple from the female diesel ryders. to give u guys a visual. I will be trying some of the seeds out soon.

update:
well since starting this thread i started 16 of the diesel ryder crossed with the non auto male. 4 have shown sex on the the 5th node, 1 male and 3 females....the rest have not shown any signs as of yet. I'm hoping these 4 that have showed sex will be auto's.

How old are the plants and what is the current photoperiod? Are they just showing sex or starting to flower? If they're flowering under veg lighting/long hours and are less than 4 weeks old they are likely to be AF, you should try inbreeding them.
Best of luck :joint:

thanks tropic. they are 3 1/2 weeks old maybe 4, the male you can see is definately auto and the 3 females only have like 2 female hairs which is probly the start of flowering. they've been growing outside since day 1,and right now theres around 15 1/2 hours between sunrise and sunset. I will inbreed the male with 2 females and check the bud formation on the 3rd fem. Also I'll add that the smell of the diesel ryder's are in all 16 of them.(skunky)

here's a few updated pics of the girls. some are a lil further along in flowering than others but all have begun the budding process.

here's a couple more pics of the semi auto flowering lowryder2 cross. height is between 2.5ft - 3 ft tall.
I am very excited to see how this one turns out.

update

its been a week since the last update and the flower and resin production is in full force now. I have come to the conclusion that roughly 1/3 semi auto like the one in the picture and the rest just flower earlier than normal.
