Currently on the wagon. Lungs were getting congested. I quit every year for a month or two, but when I do, my arthritis gets worse.
Been taking little breaks here and there after having smoked/vaped pretty much daily for the last 11-12 years. Havn't smoked in 2 weeks. Not dependent in the least, but give in often because of the "peer pressure" if you must when out with friends (nearly every weekend).
My motivation behind cutting back is trying to obtain better dream recall. Unfortunately cannabis makes it harder to remember my dreams in the morning. Ever since experiencing a random lucid dream a few years ago I've been fascinated by them. Obtaining them however have been far and few between. It led me to realize that I don't hardly remember any of my dreams when I wake up. All I usually get are bits and pieces.
Becoming conscious while asleep is something I want to explore more so I've been training my mind and cutting back to just toking on the weekends. It's helped a little, but I'm wondering what a month + break would result in.
Experienced a pretty wild one near the end of last week. I came home from work exhausted and took a lengthy nap. Maybe around 9-11:30pm. I woke up and did an hour or so tending under the lights. Since I already had a few hours sleep I decided to try some Galantamine and went back to bed. While laying there I started to feel like I wasn't tired and was wondering if taking the Galantamine was a mistake and going to prevent me from falling back asleep. Before I knew it I was up and rummaging through some stuff in my spare bedroom. Eventually some odds things (2 of the same toolbag I don't own) led me to the realize that it was a DREAM! Blew my mind. I managed to drift from laying there thinking I was struggling to fall asleep directly into a lucid dream!
Went outside.. the sky was night, but amazingly bright and vivid. Ran around for bit in the yard...came back in..overwhelmed with excitement and trying to decide what to do in this dream that started right here at my house, and then woke up. Nothing compared to what some folks experience, but one of the longer lucids I've had.
So.. check your reality whenever you wake up. You just might still be sleeping/dreaming and hadn't realized it. Plugging my nose and trying to breath always seems to work without fail for me. If you can still breath with your nose plugged, you're not awake!
Any dreamers out there?
The last time I quit (took a break) I had insomnia bad. Melatonin does let me sleep but I felt like I was on a prescription mind drug the whole next day. Dreams? Not often for me, either way (that I can remember, anyway).
I am just ridiculously high right now. My apologies to anyone who's on a break. I never get this high when I smoke every day. Every Friday is awesome when you don't get high during the week.
