i have grown mexi weed off and on for years. the seeds seem to be hybrids compared to the weed i grew before, found quite a few nice plants over the years.sorry no pics tho. still got 1000 seeds or so to go through.i have had a friend over 20 years who deals with the mexicans directly who saves me seeds from the better stuff.

cool moe that looks like some dank bro

Im in texas I got enough brick seeds to last a lifetime. Ive grown a few and most were females oddly enough with a crazy menthol taste

A friend and I used to grow bagseed outdoors years ago. We would spout a button and more or less leave them be after mixing soil with amendments. I think we would hit them once in fall with some pk then that was it. Fresh beasters where nice to have and no dirty cartels or biker gangs involved. I liked that stuff better then a lot of weed that is just to strong and keeps you from moving. I love sativa but most everyone I know likes that crap that makes you into a zombie.

Texacali, yes that is some greasy skunky sticky dankity dank, you have a good eye. A friend usually has regular mexi, sometimes decent, sometimes not as good, but every once in a while way better than average. The very best that ever came from him (over the course of 10 years) had 14 beans in a Z. So I saved 'em and last year grew em out and with the best 2 m/f specimens made over 300 beans. We call it "chocco". Wish I knew what it is, just know for sure that it started with bagseed from mexico.

I know a guy in off the 299 who has grown bag seed from mex for years and most of the people he smokes it with ask him for cuts. It has this piney, hazy, minty thing that creates an overwhelming flavor till the very end. The stuff is one of the best all day long smokes that you'll ever see.

thats looks like some serious dank...the nuggs resemble mexican alot but the thing is they are nuggs and not compressed bricks...looks real good

Yeah I just start a new Mexican brick grow. Going to find some jewels. I'm in hopes to find a sweet tasting mother sui I cab invest in some good genetics to look fur a father

My very first indoor grow were a couple of mex bag seeds ... I got very nice plants, nice flavor, potency, skinny leaf sativas that did not take forever to finish - they were better weed than the bag they came from and very well worth keeping (didn't know how to clone at the time though).

My first few grows were outdoors 20 years ago with ye olde mexican weed. My area of the midwest was sorta backwards, and it was pre internet, so we still had lots of stuff coming in bricks that could be identified by country of origin, or at least that is how it was sold, and man it resulted in great plants. I very much prefer these types of plants to the latest hybrids, I just like that each has unique qualities, the hybrids all seem fairly similar to me.

theres still some gems to be found in mexi if you sort through em and have a good source....I no longer have the time or space .....the amount of hybrids coming out from mexico is huge.. they aint stupid and been breeding too....yeehaw...its getting harder to find oldschool genetics from mexico....

I think so...

I've found mostly indica hybrids, sativa hybrids, and pure sativas from growing out Mexican bagseeds.

One time I had a pink haired plant that tasted like fruit roll ups when cured. Others have been spicy sativas, but rarely and really long-flowering pure sativas. Some have been good quality, some hermies, and a few have been the best weed I've ever smoked - even better than named strains we get around here as Cali or CO import.

Mexican bagseeds are like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're going to get...

Im pretty sure that a lot of the stuff headed North across the boarder is derived from US/European genetics. The cartels know when their being pushed out so adjust. It's not like they cant afford the seeds to get started!

Cali started the trend with the introduction of mmj & the cartels have had to up their game just to compete in certain locations.

So...
As long as seeded weed is making it North...
May as well see what the goods have to offer.

I've got a stash of a couple hundred seeds from various bags I bought before I started growing. When i popped some beans back in 99-00 I found one of my top 10 all time favorites. To bad I didn't know about cloning then.
