I have some sprouts under a 400cmh and they are from some 'mid-grade' stuff about 5 seeds in a half oz smelled skunky, got me really stoned. It's stuff i'd smoke any day over "beaster" anyway there looking really good and growing fast. Does anyone have any pictures of some mexican bagseed they have grown? Here are mine so far but they are young, the ones in the back are a friends I took care of until he got his replacement light.

You could be amazed at what you can do with mexican genetics grown with care :D

Well worth the effort. Unfortunatly I do not have any pictures of my mexican bagseed grow.

I grew some outdoors last summer. The last time I saw them before harvest they were 6-7 foot tall 3-4 foot diameter bushes that would have easily yield a 1/2 p each. they were clones vegged inside 3 weeks and put out around june 1st. i'm in the new england area and mine were going to be october 30th finishers. Mine seemed to be 50/50 indy/sat hybrids but were almost definitely from arizona.

The plants did a lot better outdoor than indoor too.

I remember the days when mexican weed was $10-20 an oz. It might be better now, but some of the stuff people buy out there lately is nasty looking compressed brick brown crap with crushed seeds and a touch of perfume.

Thats whats been around here for years. My first grow was with that seed. Guess what it made hay heh. A waste of time for smoke but invaluable for experience.

I had access to great Mexican from bales for a number of years, a lot of it was extremely nice. I actually preferred the high grade bale stuff over the various boutique type strains for smoking on a regular basis. Used to call it "working man's smoke" partly to annoy my high and holy hippie friends.

Unfortunately I lost my connection and only had a bag of random seeds, many from a bag of what was for me unusually crappy Mexi-shwag, to work with for my first grow: A lot of it smelled extremely repulsive, a "vegetal"/nasty rotty mushroom type aroma that made me literally gag when opening the jars. A long cure did it good though and some wound up smelling nice, like rosemary and/or lemon, all of it got me really stoned however. :rasta:

bumble that is some weird looking shit! i dunno if i would even buy something that looks like that! wow strange. but if you said it gets you high then thats all that matters.anyway i just got a sack of some weed kind of like brown compressed stuff ill take a pic, just remember these seeds came from some slightly better smoke.

edit: i just took some pics its definatly not "brown frown" this shit will definatly get you high its just not incredible because it is ran over by tractors and hay bailers. It's pretty green smells kinda skunky definaltly not hay

around here its 8g for 20 dollars can't beat that shit

The old spanish growers used to grab some big sticky colas form the monster bales the'd pickup. They grew it in New Mex, you find a lot of freaky baled south american bud there.Any way they had some fancy greenhouse shit they called "columcbianyado" or something and that weed had you so fukin drymouthed and high. The big sticky's from the mids of the bales were sweet, strong orangey and full of seed.I've seen it grown with great success in greenhouses.Crossed real well with The Seed Banks Hash Plant. Some keepers in that litter, no doubt.Chaco. :joint: :joint:

word is these could be from some slightly better genetics than mexican bagseed, could be "kb" but all that is around here is local mexi grown right so at least i have one generation ahead of me

my first grows were mexican bag seed and i was amazed, they were very sativa but they had a very sweet taste when cured, and got my mind racing, ive heard alot of it is shwag but i think theyres probably some great genetics's if grown properly

When I grew it on a few occasions years ago. THey proved to be very fast growing. And depends on the region its grown down there. Some finish in our climates. Had one that was piney as all get out. And truth be known..alot of mexican pot is now grown in the north west! That good green grade that hits from time to time. We've all seen the news the Mexicans liveing in the Nat forest.

Some of the best weed I've smoked came from my closet grown from schwag bagseed.

You can never really tell much about bagseed by the quality of the weed it came from.
Heavily seeded buds are probably going to produce seeds of that strain of weed, but you never know. It may well be that Jose's bud was pollinated by plants out of Pepe's patch over the ridge.
It also may be that the weed is not Mexican at all, as some of the SA and CA routes are through mex.

30years ago, we would cast maybe 150-200 seeds at a time (lol maybe one lids worth). Culling the weak looking first, then sexing immediately from there. Most all after that would be passed around to those who would usually put them in the woods.
We figured out after awhile that timing was everything doing this, as the reveg (we didn't know veg from reveg back then,,,we didn't have the internet and access to the knowledge we do today) took about a month or so off the grow times, and if there were to be any trees grown, the culling process needed to take place about the end of Jan. This was a rare event, as not many had ways of keeping the girls around till May1.
So, mostly what we had was mini plants left in the closet and continued to bud after the sexing. SOG style, but we just called it closet full of weed back then...
And we didn't know from a tric either...so I am certain most nugs were taken too early.
But some very nice stuff would come about as a result of our passion to grow the shit in any way we could. Most times much better than the bag it came from.

I can't remember who the guy was that was responsible for us knowing what little we did know...like about the 12/12 sexing thing....seems like someone was around before Jorge...hell I can't remember...
