Anyone have any experience w/ Dual 600w Lumatek ballast?

Contemplating getting one due to the fact that i can run 2 lights off of one enclosure.

Anyone know anything about these or have any experience w/ them?

Do they have 1 power plug or 2? If they have 2 plugs, then its completley useless.

I bought the Sun System gro pro Dual 600 Watt ballast when i was having issues with (8) electronic 600watters i bought... i LOVED it so much i bought two more.. i paid 307.00 or 315.00 each but i got a good deal at my local hydro store (LHS)

it runs two seperate 600watt bulbs off one power cord and you can choose to run one ore two. you can buy a 240volt cord too its already wired.. very nice systems..

oh.. you wanted electronic?.. i left electronic after using them on a 9600 watt grow for 4 months.. 24 hours.. they were nice and quite and cool but were too finicky with any power surge..

thanx for the info on the magnetic gropro ballasts though, if these E-ballasts dont pan out, that may be my next option.

The idea behind the gropros is sweet. I bought a number of them myself. Unfortunately they won't fire bulbs ocassionally and after doing some testing I found out they put out less light than a normal 600w ballast. My hydro shop has so many of these things that people don't want anymore. They sell them for $100 in the used department.

So I can no longer reccomend the gropro dual 600w ballast.

Thread with more details on these ballasts is here http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=60537

You can buy 2 600 watt Lumi's for about $400 so why buy the dual for $489? I've never had problems with my 600 watt Lumi's and power surges and I've run 4800 watts with em for over a year...not finicky in my experience but have heard that...mainly with people running em on 240.

i want 2 ballasts on one plug, i run one of the store bought 30 amp timer boards so i got 4 outlets and 20 amps to run for lights. With 3 of these 240v dual 600w e-ballasts i can have 6 lights and only use 3 outlets.

correct, correct..... I thought of that, but i never really thought it through. Hmm, would be a shitload easier and cheaper, hmmmm. goddamnit, I really wanted to have the new "cool" dual ballast light too.

Thanx a million pico, you just solved all of my problems.

with the joint ballast if you have any problems w the dual ballast it will have large eeffect on your grow so i would think individual ballasty are a better wat to go especially if all you have to do is add some plugs to the timer box.

just my thoughts

Ps i run lumatek 400 and lumatek 600 in a apartment and have had no p[roblems.
