Fist sized top of my Blueberry Sativa x Barney’s Farm shiskaberry. Most phenos are heavy budded plants just large variation in flowering start time. Smells vary from acrid/ammonia afghani to grape floral to berry/blueberry, most are combinations.

Lower that sees less rain at 45N

Never had amazing results with Barneys seeds before but this shiskaberry is one of the best plants I’ve seen in a while. The hybrid made it a bit better for my climate. Hope to do BLueberry sativa x Deep chunk back to shisky dominant BBS/shisk females Seeing as shiskaberry is reportedly Blueberry x Afghani.

Thanks for confirming that it's the Shishkeberry #3 Cilindirin. I can see it's a little different then the 'regular' Shishk I remember from 20 years ago. I started to notice it a couple weeks ago, it's subtle enough that if I didn't know it had blueberry in it I wouldn't figure it out. The number 3 is Yellow Shishkeberry X (Shishkeberry red x Blueberry). The blueberry was 'an incredibly resinous male from the DJ Short collection'. The differences are that the plants are a bit more uniform, the resin glands are larger giving it a super frosty appearance, and the smell and look are tilted towards the blueberry side more then the raspberry or strawberry side. As I said before these are small differences but they're more obvious once you know what to look for. The blueberry involved must have been excellent.

Mold has been a nightmare this year but the so far the Shishk has avoided the worst of it. I'm worried, every time I check it I'll find another small patch. The size and density of the flowers is a problem, too big to dry out. If we didn't have a foggy smoky environment they'd be pineapple sized. As it is they're absolutely huge, crystal coated, and smell delicious. Here's what she looks like.

These things are like grenades. They've fought valiantly against the bad weather, for dense Afghan genetics they've held up great. I'm trying to hold off on cutting them as long as I can so they ripen.

I have been working the shiska lines I have since 2016 when i got a room fired back up again after a few year absence.
First cross was the original 98 Shishkaberry x Ustad seeds Shishkaberry 3f2 ... called this Shiskabah
I did an A line which was an F2 of Shiskabah and I did a B line which was 98 Shiskaberry x Shiskabah.
Then.... I sifted thru some Cash Crop Ken Nuken. Low germination like the 98 shishkaberry seeds but i got some nice shishka leaners to play with. Again did a Line A Nuken F2 and I did a B Line 98 Shishkaberry x Nuken and called that LMZ (Lowermainland Zone) as that is where all these strains came from.

So...... last year I combined the Line A shiskabah with Line A LMZ and Line A Shiskabah with Line B Shiskabah
Last summer I grew out some of the proginy of Shiskaba Line A x Shiskabah Line B and named those plants Tyne's Shisk. I also started more of the LMZ F2 looking for God Bud throw backs and Shiskaberry phenos.
Here's some pics of last summer's "Tyne's Shisk" plants
To me, these represent classic shape, form and flower set as the original shishkaberry.... however.... smell does not translate to flavor and most of these plants were rendered into fantastic hashish as smoking the flowers was a little unpleasant. The acrid afghani flavor has dominated and I need some "berry" phenos from some older Shiskaberry stock to add the flavors. Frost, yield and potency are excellent and the trichomes of cured flowers are huge and feel granular on the fingers.

been a couple years since this thread saw any action eh??

what happened to all those 25 packs of Shiskabah the got donated and dropped at seedbay a few years back?
Those all got snapped up by the time the new seedbay emerged so hopefully some icmag members managed to score some. If you did..... grow em and show em!

I reached back into my 2017 stock and pulled the remainder of those seeds , 98 Shishkaberry F1 x 2015/16 Ustad Shishkaberry 3f2 , same lot I sent in to seedbay under the OTLB seed collective label. I have some 90's Blues and will be phenohunting both for a recombination.
If there is interest I will grow 'n' show

where's all the "Spice of Life" Shishka lovers on icmag these days.
*** and I mean no offense..... but cash crop ken's Kish and Barney's Farm's rendition are despised by Breeder Steve so don't be upset if I don't recognize those as "shishkaberry". :)

The males were awesome studs and dumped pollen daily until I chopped them at 38 days
I collected a lot of pollen packs for my freezer stash :)
the top is bent over on the shorter one so it looks like a bush but it did have a center cola till I knocked it over collecting pollen. LOL

made up lots of pollen packs and the pollen in the jars represents one evening collection from the two males.

there is F2s been around for a while...made some myself in `09...can tell ya bout it tho but curious what others have to say as well....
its a unique n interesting line...
always known it as Shiskeberry from breeder Steve of SOL...
Steve used 2 distinct lines known as the Yellow and the Red...
Shiskeberry is said to be mainly Red/Shiskeberry....but theres a few stories...
( ? - Shishkeberry Red, from Spice Of Life Seeds, is NOT the same as the Shiskaberry x Shiskaberry(a.k.a. Kish)
not sure who made that statement but its what seems to be...
man this is goin back a ways...i did just gift some out not even a yr ago...who knows tho.....some day....n happy hunting
FOE20
I found the red blew the yellow away. i grew a lot of them when it first came out, made a whack of seeds but the cops took them. One of the best plants I ever grew came from the red line,It looked exactly like the pic of the Pakistani plant in marijuana growers guide,,it was almost red leaf very low yielding, but very unique taste and outrageously powerful

yes ..... Fleur de Mal seeds is the only outfit I am aware of doing Breeder Steve sanctioned preservation work with Spice of Life varieties. He has plans to start the shishkaberry work sometime this year I believe.

Satiros Seeds has Shishkeberry #3 F2s, when I picked up a pack he threw in a bunch of other great stuff. Shishkeberry #3 was Steve's collaboration with DJ Short, a super resinous blueberry jam smelling male crossed with the red, then crossed back to the yellow. So it's (Shishkeberry yellow) X (Sishkeberry red x Blueberry). Pics of my grow from a couple years ago at the top of the page and the previous one. Notice he just posted new pictures of it on Instagram, looks amazing. All his pics look amazing. @satirosseeds Or his site, satirosseeds.com

He speaks Spanish, zero English, so have your google translate ready if you're not fluent. Popped a couple more this year, I'll try to grab a pic to post.

The closest I've gotten to Shiskaberry was 1/2 Shiskaberry, "Cotton Candy Cane",
Headband x Shiskaberry.

It was good but I only grew one plant.

"Shishkaberry, or “Kish,” is an indica-dominant hybrid that came about from crossing DJ Short Blueberry with an unknown Afghani strain."

Did that unknown Af. strain have some Sativa in it ?

Here's a look at one of my Shishkeberry #3 F2s. The leaves are so wide, looks more like a blackberry or a nettle than ganja. She (hopefully) is going to be a monster. I know I have a 2nd sibling, only I can't find it. Hope it didn't get culled.

I got a pack of Chimera's C4, Cotton Candy x Shishkaberry years ago. The seeds were brown, but they were tiny and lacked stripes. None popped. I'd forgotten about that, now I'm annoyed.

The best Shishkaberry hybrid by far I've grown was Strawberry Glue from Space Genetix. It's Strawberry Shishkaberry x GG#4. Grew one out in eastern Washington last year. One of the all time best plants I've grown. Absolutely amazing. Huuuge colas of super frosted strawberry jam. The smoke quality was A+++, it's an improvement on the original shishk if that's possible. Even bigger plant with even longer bigger colas. Here's a look at the young plant, looks like mid June.

If you have a pack, or know where to find one, let me know and get one at all costs. The strain is feminized and I wasn't able to make seeds on it so it was one and done. The only caveat is a couple years earlier I grew it out in western Washington. Two plants, both got hammered by mold. They were huge yielders, colas were so dense, huge and frosty they completely rotted. Now I need to look for seeds from those plants, I'm sure I made some.

Did that unknown Af. strain have some Sativa in it ?

Breeder Steve is still around, has a web page and hangs out on Instagram, you can ask him. I'm 100% there is not. The strain is classic Afghan in every way.

Wish I had pics of last year's strawberry glue in full flower, I do have pics of the ones that molded. Such a tragedy, I'm still scarred by it. The weather was awful that year, probably my worst mold year ever. What I salvaged I had to cut early, still white-haired and most was made into hash. If it didn't rot in the drying room. I wasn't even able to salvage the lower nugs because they were so fat and dense. You can see mold in the first pic if you look close.
