havent used one yet diggity, but it's been highly recommended to me.

The haku454 (sp?) as mentioned in that other thread, really is about the same thing as the phedor, but does need some DIY.

I imagine that they last a very long time, but not sure.

nice sig NYCD!

I can pretty much tell you right now the phedor isnt a vaporizer, its a glorified lighter minus the flame - Insanely hot ceramic tip, thats it.

I suggest a Steinel heat gun + glass bong. For the money, the best water filtered vapo I have tried.

two things.. yes it is just a ceramic heating element marked up the a-hole and the Hakko 456 is the cheaper alternative to butanless enjoyment of your favorite herb :joint:

It is hardly diy Nokuy, all you have to do is unscrew the case.. its kinda hard but a rubber pickle jar opener thingy helps.

So... can anyone please give me the idiots guy to making one of these.

and one more question, it stills burns the herb enough that there is a lot of smoke or can I use the leftovers to make butter??

thanks guys, much appreciated

no man it burns up yer herb- it's just a lighter replacement! butaneless.
I thought I answered your questions in chat....
Buy a Hakko 456 or Dash online, and then simply unscrew the metal housing on the tip when you get it, it should slide right off and expose the ceramic element.

Also, as I asked earlier, is there anywhere I can buy one at home depot, lowes, etc?

I've heard Frys carries Hakko soldering irons. You can also order just heating element online for $13 instead of the whole iron for ~$40
