Anyone else playing with the cannabis genetic map?

Hello! i had seen on this forum that there was a cannabis genetic map to be published, as it was yesterday.

As soon as it was up, i was playing around with it. I find it really interesting and i'm surprised that there's no follow up on it? it's far from perfect surely: more samples would make a difference. But how neat is that?

I tried to highlight some recognizable strains here, though i'm not competent in the least.

Have you played with it? what are your thoughts?

Again, i'm having lots of fun exploring the map, but i'm a novice. It would be better to have knowledgeable people comment on it!

Here's an interesting area. As far as i can tell, the few sampled landraces all appear in that small cluster on the margin (in color white) and here only. Jamaica, Thai, Laos and Tanzania. With them stand a few named strains: Chernobyl, Afgoo and Cotton Candy.

The names GSC, the Kushes, the OGs, the Urkles and the Sour Diesel, evoke modern US strains to me (not sure if that's right). They appear as relatively tight clusters that are independent from each other, though with some cross-links.

On the other hand, there is a huge yellow and orange blob. This is where the names "Haze" and "Skunk" have all their responses. But those two "strains" appear all over the place in that big yellow blob so i have no good idea where to place them. I still tried to place Skunk, but it's tentative.

Some strains have too few hits to form solid clusters, but have relatively recognizable areas, such as White Widow, Cannatonic, Tangerines.

And finally, other strains of the big yellow blob have much tighter and easily identifiable clusters: Blue Dream, Harlequin, the Jack family, Durban Poison.

A little below the big yellow blob, very near to it, is a "double cluster", a small blue blob composed almost uniquely of either AC/DC or of strains called "Super Lemon Haze" and "Lemon Skunk". Looks like a very citrusey area!

This is pretty fascinating to explore. It's interesting that if you start with cookies and trace the trail it immediately leads to bubba then og, giving credence to the people that have always theorized that cookies was an og/bubba hybrid of some kind all along. Also, the durban cluster (another theoretical parent of cookies) doesn't appear to connect to the cookie cluster. I'm not entirely sure that's how this works and obviously there are durbans they haven't tested but it's at least interesting to think about. Back to exploring...

I know this thread is a bit old , but I've been looking through the older posts and find this fascinating. Where can I find it?
