Anybody Use This Soil?

Ran by Dutch Garden Supply in Irvine, CA today to pick up my usual bags of Ocean Forest, Happy Frog and Light Warrior. Sales rep asked me if I had ever tried Sanctuary's Empire Builder soil mix. Looked at the ingredients and it appears everything is there. Sales rep said he'd been using Fox Farm's products for years, tried Empire Builder and is converted. $20 for a 2 cf bag, so it's slightly cheaper then my FF mix. Gonna add some mycos to it, but other then that, it seems like everything needed is present.

Anybody used this????

TIA

i personally never heard of it and use roots organic myself i also like the fox farm line if i were you i wouldnt change your current soil unless your looking for a change i think roots and fox farm are the best for indoor for a larger outdoor scale id deff go with compressed bails of sunshine mix or promix...just my opinion.

I'm usually pretty wary of changing things up, however I do trust this sales rep (never done me wrong and I can tell he knows what he's talking about) and I got to thinking............the shop stands to make more money selling me my 3 bag mix of Fox Farms (around $50 for the same 4 cu ft.), so I bit.

Already bought 2 bags and gonna run them. Was just wondering if anybody else had used this.

Thosse ingredients would definitely make for great tomatoes, so it should grow quite nicely in that mix. Are you able to test salinity?

I've heard really good things about that soil. One peep I know said it's the best bagged soil he's ever used. Good luck with it I think you'll be happy you tried it out.

Sorry bro, but the Sunshine mix #4 is a peat based mix...I almost went to it from Blackgold when they changed their formula...

unless you know what he pays for the soil you can't really be sure which way he would make more profit.

Like I said, I trust the guy. Been going there for a while and we always talk for a bit. He knows his stuff and also knows if he steers me the wrong way, my money is going to another shop. If this soil was crap, EVERY shop in So Cal carries Fox Farms, so it's not like he's selling a product I can't get anywhere else.

There are SOME good people in the world......:tiphat:
