My wife got me into listening to national public radio. Ever since I've been home alot I've been finding myself listening to it all the time, even over some of my more favorite radio stations. Every Staturday , NPR is on all day , I love weekend edition. I like Car Talk, what do ya know?, This American Life, Prarie Home Compaion, Thistle and Shamrock and American roots....all great.Anybody else an NPR junkie.

I have a new found respect for the radio. I have always liked the H.G.T.T.G. by douglas adams. I didn't know it was ever on the radio, but that's pretty cool.

i don't listen to the radio, but npr is cool to listen two after a long day of work, and a nice joint in hand

NPR is what my girls listen to 24/7. I am a big supporter of public radio. It is the only radio station I listen to in the car.

I like Prairie Home Companion and This American Life which is the best. Makes you laugh and cry. You can down load them at NPR.com.
The World, Macneil Lehrer , and Marketplace is where I get my news. Also the Asian show is it called Pacific TIme? It focuses on Asia but makes you realise how what happens over there affects what happens over here unlike a lot of the Niche shows ( This Way Out etc.)

I am waiting for Terry Gross to retire, Fresh Air hasn't been interesting in 10 years. She jumped the shark when she interviewed David Bowie and obviously didn't know who he was. Acted like his last album was Ziggy Stardust.

My local NPR station has some awesome jazz at night. Ive heard other stations jazz playlists, and this one is the best.
"News and Notes" is an awesome program.
I heard a republican representative on NPR today, he was a total dick.
NPR is very fair an balanced. it definitely has many 'liberal' listeners, but it presents both sides to every issue.
Car Talk is awesome too.

peace

You know I couldn't agree with you more. Even though NPR is somewhat "librealy biased" I have heard many interviews with conservatives just to give you the other side of the discussion. You know whats kinda weird , and it's one of the reasons I still love their news is The very day before 9/11 happened I was driving home from work and had their news show on. The news show was claiming that an Afghan rebel leader was killed by a car bomb which was planted by a group lead by Osama Bin Laden( the first time I ever heard his name) an anaylist came on to explain that this was a very bad thing because this rebel leader and his group were winning a war against a group called the Taliban(first time I heard anything about them) and this was a fatal blow to the rebels. The analyst went on to say that he was personally very worried because he believed that Osama was definently "up to something". The very next day the trade towers fell , and I was like
"Holy crap , they were just talking about this on NPR news yesterday!"
It was just weird how it all happened.
