Any of you succeeded in a real odorless grow? How?

4x2x6=>~50cf closet, getting a ~300cfm fan (inline type rvk 150-l)....asking you guys what size filter(cfm) would work best for me and my odorless grow attempt, i've really got no idea how much back pressure the filter causes.

ps:please do not suggest the biggest possible for i still want to have some decent airflow.

regards, jack

in the past, Ive just put up with some odor since my grow is in a shop thats free standing and not near anyone. but my current bubba kush is super stinkey, and my kids are getting old enough to wander back on the farm near my hidden locked shop with false walls and all, so I decided to odorproof it.

the carbon filter exhause has gotten rid of 99% of the exhaust odor, and its a fairly small filter for the large amount of stinkey bud thats in there now. I can rarely get a small whiff if Im near the exhaust vent.

but, the room that the closet gets its air from, eventhough there should be negative pressure in the grow space, some odor leaks out, and stank it up. so I bought an Air Maid ozone generator for that space. It works like a charm. I dont think ozone is the best option for your grow space but it is great for adjacent rooms that might get a bit of odor.

so -

carbon filter for exhaust
ozone for the adjacent living spaces for any odor that sneaks through.

best of both worlds and almost odor free.

Must not get real cold where you are at.

Where I am at in the winter, EVERYONE in the neighborhood and probably a half mile away would smell that exhaust.

Even if I exhausted outside I would scrub it first with active carbon.

I would definetly agree that i would scrub any exhaust air unless you live deep in the country or somewhere with no neighbors.

I use a homemade scrubber made for less than 20$ works great!!! I use it in combination w/vortec 449 fan.. SO far no odor issues at all.

I don't have any equipment as of now, i sold everything before moving.

I will buy a 400w + fan + filter and i will do a ebb&flow setup in a 5x2 closet. So, 5x2x8 80 cubic feet.

I put a bathroom vent/exhaust fan. in the closet.

close to odorless...3+ years...

close to odorless...3+ years...

i grow in the unfinished basement...black & white poly film hung to create a 'room'...

using a vaportek 4000 inside the grow set to 1 or 2 during veg, cranked up through flower...

outside the grow, spaced evenly, i have 2 vaportronics going 24/7...

the cat box is also down there...

towards the end of flowering, the mrs. sometimes comments about an occasional whiff emanating from the basement...

not perfect, but it seems to work for me...

we entertain the in-laws regularly, and the kids' friends come over every so often...

i don't think there is a universal solution, but not covering the odor is a recipe for troubles...
sorry for babbling on.

no i need to hear more of ur babbling. seems like alot on here dont go overboard w/ odor control BUT that is my #1 priority. can have none or very little. mom comes over daily to watch my son and we have alot of visitors, who aren't potheads like me. i'm willing to spend $ to cover the odor problems. thinking of a vaportek 4000 plus something else plus a couple plug in air freshners.
please....suggestions....comments.

Vindiesel...I have a room built with black/white poly. room is 4x7. I use a phat filter and have not smell at all. I can stick my nose up to the exhaust, and I smell nothing. As a matter of fact, the whole basement smells better than it ever did. No smell. Period. I grow Bubba Kush, SourD x OG, SourD IBL, Skunk strains, etc. Doesn't matter how bad the plants reek, still no smell.

The key as has been stated earlier is to have negative air flow and the correct size filter and exhaust blower. By creating negative air pressure, the only way air escapes is through the filter. Use the correct size filter and fan, with maybe a little overkill, you will smell nothing. This is how I do it. Works very well.

i'm thinking of using 2 4" axial fans for exhaust. each 105cfm. box is 2X2 3' high. i don't understand the whole neg air flow thing...please explain. i'm a newbie. just a burner. box will be in a cinderblock closet in basement. closet about 12X4. picture it being an L shaped closed. bends around corner to a 12X1 "alley" which is behind bar. the end of that L is opened to laundery room. thanks for helping guys...
what exactly is a phat filter?

hey vidiesel,

negative pressure mean that your box will act like a big vacuum cleaner. No air must exit in anywhere but thought the fan.
