you two both needing to pursue your own personal success in two very far apart locations?

My college g/f and I just said goodbye because she got a job somewhere else (near family) and I'm lookin for mine far away (due to job market)...

so sad. I've never had a relationship end this way.

She walked out of my life after a year, then apologized and wanted me back, for a couple months, and now it's goodbye. We both still love each other.

Something just doesn't feel right.

Did you all find someone else or are you miserable because you let the career get into the way of the love life?

Break ups never feel right, I would say pursue your career and see what happens. Life has a funny way of working itself out if you just let it.
