Ill tell you what though, I transplanted 10 clones into soil solo cups and 40 into coco solo cups and there was probably about 3-5 times more root mass in coco girls. Thicker / Whiter roots.
Ive found that a lot of people like to wait till the top inch of coco is dry or pot starts to feel about half their wait when saturated during veg. What is your way of telling when you need to water during veg?
Dank I only let them dry out during the first couple days of transplants to let them roots catch. after that once the top of the coco starts to dry out Ill hit em with a watering do the lift test and then youll get a hang of how often theyll need waterings never let them dry out completely after the roots catch. boy do the ladies love waterings once their roots are established they perk up everytime. letting it dry out too much will cause problems that arent pretty.

Good deal !!! because even i'm having problems with cups of coco & young clones & seedlings , the weather changed & my coco is staying to wet to long & rotting the roots & killing my young'uns , shits pissin me off lol . go from a hot summer to a cold fall & i'm still feeding like its summer ..... dumb ass
the extreme temp differences of growing in attic is wearing on my nerves real bad lately .....
I've been feeding my girls from all ages as soon as they get transplanted into cups the "Heisenberg Tea." Once a week.
(Per 5 gal)
3-5ml aquashield
1-2 cups humus
1/2-1 teaspoon great white
1 tablespoon molasses
This tea is said to prevent and CURE root rot. Apply only a little bit at base of stalk where it can cling to your main roots. 1/2-1 cup is all that is needed per plant (depending on size). I haven't seen a bad root since using this tea. Always feed a couple hours after your daily watering, never before. You never need more than a 5 gallons worth for your whole crop. Aerate for 36-72 hours. Anything after 72 hours, microbes will start dying.
you would love ogbiowar.
Nute pack? What and how do u like to use it?
Okay so I got a few questions. 2 pictures below are rooted clones that have been transplanted into solo cups about 1 week ago. I let them get dry before I watered them for the second time. Then I let it go about half dry before next. Why have some of them rooted much harder than others? Should I be watering these plants every day? Would you let the ones that have not much of a root structure dry out?
Also, the pictures of the plants in 1.5 gals were fully rooted solo cups. They have been in the 1.5 for a week. Not much growth and kind of yellow. I havent watered em since transplanting (Yeah, its been a week) and some of them are still kind of heavy. Would you still let them dry out or feed em with fresh nutes and oxygen every day/other day? Need some quick advice fellas. Used brick coco and it seems pretty packed into these pots..
What kind of Coco? Bricks can be full of Salts, did you rinse or precharge with nutes? Just buy a bag of Canna and water with normal nutes. Worth the little extra for good Coco.
I prefer to bottom feed for awhile after transplant and just keep top of coco moist. This will promote roots to seek water, downwards. I also suggest feeding daily once rooted. I also prefer feeding multiple times per day and using smaller pots. Feeding more often equals faster growth. If it takes more than 2 days for your pot to dry out, you are overwatering and the pot is Too big. coco is hydro with a medium....don't treat it like soil. I water daily or multiple times per day No matter what the size. You do not have to water to run off if you are not blasting your plants with high EC . Use less each watering, but water more often and your plants will do better. I. Get 8+ Oz dried using 1 gal pots all of the time using straight Canna Coco and modified 6/9. Experimenting with V+B to see if The end product is any better, I am more than happy with my harvest sizes. Good luck
I appreciate you takin the time to write me back. I used GH brick cocotek for half of em and I used Roots organic coco for the other half. The roots organic is drying out much faster and plants look much healthier.. Wish I would have used it for all of them or did some research prior. The brick coco reminds me of coffee grounds. And you have to soak the brick coco (which I soaked in a 1/2 strength solution) which makes it much more compact. My solo cups that I transplanted into 1.5-2 gal pots are still around 75% wet in the brick coco and 25% wet in the Roots Organic and its been 8 days.... I checked the roots on one of saturated pots and they are moving around in there, just not as vigorous as the Roots Organic. I am going to let them go as long as they need to take to become 75% dry. You live and you learn. The brick coco ones will probably be a week or two behind schedule but I am sure that they will figure it out..
You have not watered in 8 days? That is a problem right there! You need to charge with full strength and squeeze most of the moisture out of it. Just so it is damp for transplant. Then feed them around the edges of the pots. Do not soak the coco, just feed enough to keep coco damp until roots start to grow good. It is better to barely water more often than to soak coco. If you are not feeding daily or every 2 days during this time of transplant you soaked the coco too much. Use smaller pots or air pruning pots....they dry out faster. Your plant should need to be watered more often. Add airflow to bottom plant area if you need to speed the drying of the coco. Once you get the hang of it,you will see hydro like growth. Good luck
