Netprophet,
a couple of questions if ya don't mind......

-how long does it take for your roots to bust through the bottom of the cubes? it's been 3 weeks now and i don't yet see anything. The babies were already well rooted in rapid rooters before going into the 6x6 blocks.

-What kind of delivery system are you using and why the coco mats under the blocks?

-how often are you feeding them and is it just top feed or are you flooding the cubes as well?

I'm a noob to these big RW blocks, thanks in advance

ya dood 3 weeks is a long time. I put these from rapidrooter into the 6x6s and like 7 days later the roots came popping thru. Maybe your trays are cold your water temp? The coco mat thing underneath is to give them more room to put the roots down as my last runs the hugos were solid as a brick

I'm in the same state as you (according to Brian or Ryan) and you know it's been cold lately but i keep my room at 75-80 degs. I hand water when needed, since they are not really drinking it up yet, no reason to auto feed.

Kinda puzzled then, my blocks are still pretty soaked.

I might buy them for my 3 gallon pots ... turn my 2 drip stakes to 4 drip sites & i'd bet they'd fit perfect in the square pots ... Hmmmmm :chin:

I have been using my sample for some time..

nice stuff, works well

only thing I am concerned with, is the silica in it, there should be a warning to avoid breathing in "dust" or traces of this stuff, and being it's powder I'm sure some gets in the air.. everything I know, silica dust should never ever be inhaled, and there is a major caution when working around silica dusts...

other then that, I say it's working well, never used powder before so it's interesting, but far easier to mix then two or up bottles..

We try not to throw it at each other and have fights with it in the grow room. We just keep it right beside the res and scoop what usually ends up being about 4-5 of the large sized scoopers into the rez.

Im more bothers by the dust from a bag of Perlite. That shit is horrible.

^ well, type in Silicosis and see what you come up with.. then you might agree with me, powdered silica should not be used in products, as what's more beneficial, your 2 month plant having hard stems and were not very sure what else it benefits fully, or damaged lungs for life...

and that's also why I don't use peat, I use straight coco

who knows though, I'm not a chemist, scientist or any of that stuff. I am throwing it out there for discussion, maybe what were using is safe, but we should always be cautious when from what I know has the ability of permanent damage or wearing a mask.. it becomes un-worth it to me as there is far many other options.. as I said let's open discussion on all things silica and dangers, If I'm wrong all better

here's some great pictures on this:

My stems are definitely strong! Anyone used the Overdrive yet with Veg+Bloom? ran it last round at 10mls and blew em up. This round at 4 weeks is getting hit with 1.9EC

I'm tapering off the feeds after 30 days cuz i found to much nitrogen later in flower screwed up the buds . so after i start tapering off I was thinking about adding PK 13/14 for a week to see if that made any differences .I'll probably finish this run without it & try it on the next one .

Has anybody thats bought V & B recently (the new formula ) noticed a difference in the PH swing ??? before i could get 3 to 4 days before i had to readjust my rez ... now i have to do it everyday !! i even went as far as changing the filters in my RO unit .... basicly cuz the tds was up to 65 from 02 . & now its back down to 02 .... but i still have to adjust every day . i was wondering if whatever they changed in the nutes is whats doing it .... or if its the PH from my main water source thats changed . it is winter & i know tap usually changes a bit this time of year , but i'm just trying to find out why i'm getting the change in PH swing .
Rives ... you here dude ??? :)
i think your about the only one besides me that was really paying attention to the PH swing . you noticed any differences ?

I just sent off an Email to chris too to see if what he's changed about the formulas would cause this .

Gotta get this shit figured out by spring ... cuz i can't be here everyday come nice weather !!!

Here I be! I just picked up a couple of new tubs, but haven't cracked the seal on them yet. It will happen in the next couple of days, though, 'cause I just used up the last of the old batch. Have you given Chris a call or an email? As you said, it's the time of year for pH swings - normally I could damn near calibrate my meter with my tap water, and the other day I checked it and it was down by .7 from normal.
